A very memorable and delicious dining experience! We had the "smaller" of the tasting menus with wine pairings. Two fantastic appetizers (chopped ahi sashimi and avocado stack, and the super inventive "Soup and Sandwich"), butter poached cold lobster, ginger crusted Onaga .... we were feeling pretty full by this point .... and then there was the twice cooked short rib?!... Any place that can take a tomato and cucumber and make it taste so incredibly good deserves all the high ratings! Everything, from the drinks to the appetizers to the meal and dessert was fantastic. We had a nice view of the mountainside (I'm checking off scenic view, but I am not sure everyone would agree with me.) It's expensive,... More

Had the classic 5 course tasting menu representing Alan wongs most popular dishes and it was truly excellent. Coming from the UK I've never even heard of him or his restaurants but on the basis of this would revisit with gleeful anticipation! I did feel like some of the dishes possibly didn't hang together perfectly, but each part of each... More

We had the tasting of the classics menu which allowed us to try many of their specialities. We love love loved the tomato soup and mini sandwich. The Coconut dessert was also insanely delicious. We both found the tasting portions really quite large and were way too full by the end of the meal. We did see some of the... More

We had dinner for 4. We had a few appetizers along with dinner and some wine. Every thing was very good. The service was excellent. The lamb chops were very expensive but very good. The poke balls appetizer was really good as well. The lobster lasagna rocked! We will probably go there again the next time we visit. Note, try... More

My husband and I decided to have a wedding in Hawaii, party of two, and decided to have our wedding dinner at this restaurant. The service was excellent, very professional, nice, and the food was delicious, fresh, and unique. Can't wait to go back one day!

When you celebrate a very special occasion you don't want to take chances on a place you haven't tried out before. You cannot go wrong here. The couple on our right was visiting from Vancouver and have been coming to the restaurant for the past five years. The couple on our left was from San Francisco and have been coming... More

We had a 6 o'clock seating for party of five and started out with cocktails and appetizers. The Poki-Pines won ton and Seafood Cakes were delicious. Da Bag was disappointing with several unopened clams. For the main course the Miso Butterfish and a special Lobster Lasagna were mouth melting goodness. Don't leave without sinking your teeth into The Coconut and... More

Recommended by a friend who lived in Hawaii. When I made reservations I mentioned it was my anniversary. They made up special menus with my husband aqnd my name honoring our anniversary. The 5 course dinner was superb. We enhjoyed our meal so much we ate there again before leaving the islands. A must if you are in Honolulu.

Food: B+ for food. Was good but nothing extraordinary. The quality of the food was above average, but not worth the hefty price tag. The meal for two with seven course fixed menu was $85 without wine. Dishes are small "sampler" portions. Although portions are small, by the end of the meal you do not walk away hungry, but not...
