Unlikely location, great food

This is an interesting location for a restaurant - 3rd floor of an office building, on a busy street in a commercial part of the city... but people come here for great food, not for location. The Location: This restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of an office building in a nondescript neighborhood. Don't let the location put you off, as the meal was well worth it. We were seated at a table for two next to the window. This was a very nice location as it was quiet and fairly private. The Meal: We... More

If you are visiting Honolulu this is a must try place. One of 2 prominent Hawaiian chefs but doesn't have a restaurant on mainland like Roy's. Stick to your reservation time between 7-8:30 or if you show up early or late, there can be a long wait. Menu is creative, consistent and good. I prefer his appetizers vs main but... More

This place is a class act--from the moment that you are seated to the moment you leave--you are really taken care of in a most professional and caring way. We had flown in that day from the mainland so were tired and hungry. The experience did not disappoint. We tried all the appetizers and shared some main courses. The speciality... More

Having been to an Alan Wong restaurant before I had high expectations for this restaurant. It did not disappoint. The food was superb and the service outstanding. The restaurant is on the 3rd floor of an office building so look for the valet out front. You can reserve through Open Table. All the food is beautifully presented right down to... More

Alan Wong must have known location would not matter when word got out about everything else. The atmosphere on the. 3rd floor, the outstanding mixologist with the best Mai Tai on the island. Very polished wait staff, who know there menus and how it can be altered for your specific nutritional concerns. An amazing entree no matter which you choose,... More

Great food, fine wines, and good service IF you can afford it. Personally, I would rather have a similar meal at another location for a little more than half the price Alan thinks his is worth.

We've been eating our way across three of the Hawaiian islands and our meal last night at Alan Wong's was the best of the trip. Our server RJ was faultless and we were especially impressed with not only his willingness to adjust the set menu to cater for dietary requirements but the fact that he came up with a number... Recommended by a dear friend our dining experience was excellent. The tasting menu was superb with excellent wine pairings. Starting a meal with a refreshing glass of Veuve is the way to go. The flavors were so well balanced and so complimentary. Service was impeccable. This meal moved up to the top as one of our favorites. We will definitely... More
