Maybe the best in town

Definitely a must for everyone who loves high quality dining. The neighbourhood is somewhat special, the restaurant is on the 3rd floor of an office building not far away from highway H1 north of Waikiki. You will also definitely need a reservation, they sell the table up to 4 times an evening... read more

Waited 45 minutes for our table (which was pre-booked weeks in advance) as i came to realise this was due to the SLOW service and some silly serving policies e.g. ordered the butter tasting starter - the butter came in a few minutes however the bread took 30 minutes to arrive and was only delivered one piece at a time... Visited friend in Honolulu who took me to Alan Wong's for dinner. We chose not to have the tasting menu but it looked fantastic. The amuse bouche was a red pepper and tomato soup served in a martini glass plus a mini grilled cheese sandwich which had cheese, Kahlua pork and food gras. The largest most satisfying amuse bouche I've... More

I like good food and I love impeccable service. We loved everything we tried. I was blown away by their service. Our son fell asleep and the waiter even brought him a blanket! I can't wait to go back. Best meal ever.

We had the tasting menu - all dishes highlighted regional Hawaiian ingredients with an Asian influence. I enjoyed every dish and had the wine pairing which was matched really well. It was fine dining cuisine standard but definitely not the fine dining atmosphere that I was expecting. It is a very busy restaurant (we went on a Wednesday night) with... More

The service, food and the entire dining experience was wonderful. We went early due to being on east coast time. The tasting menu with wine pairing was super - nothing disappointed. The twice cooked short rib was delicious and we are happy we had the opportunity to experience Alan Wong's in Honolulu.

I'm starting to think the best thing in these expensive restaurants is the service. Our waiter Michael was so patient with us choosing our food. He tried to explain everything in details. We got the short ribs which was exellent, lobster lasagna which was good, the red snapper hubby liked it a lot and the seafood pasta which was not... More

Went here due to all the good comments on TA. Our dinner was even better than expected. Staff are well trained, know their menu and only want their guests to be happy. Had a dining first here. One of our party ordered a pork dish. Our waiter came back, advising the chef didn't like the way that evenings marinade turned... More
