Food view and service are better at Kahala

So disappointed. Food was good but not superlative. Service was condescendingly arrogant; which I don't mind if service is great- which it wasn't. So this was a very poor value. View was fantastic; and atmosphere is very nice.

This restaurant is really at the top and offers French cuisine. It offers excellent service in a nice atmosphere with delicious food. The wines are a little bit overpriced if you know there real prices. The food was excellent and my highly was the selection of French cheese at the end. Make sure you are doing a reservation well in... More

We visited La Mer after hearing it received Forbes Magazine 5 Stars for two consecutive years. The Menu Degustation we had was so fantastic! A beautiful combination of modern/classic french cuisine. From foie gras to lobster, to beef to lamb. The dessert was also very original and the best we ever had! No.1 fine dining in Honolulu for sure!!

Amazingly, and ridiculously, they make men wear a jacket for dinner at this restaurant, this is Hawaii! The service is pretentious. Forcing diners to have a minimum $110 three course dinner is just unnecessary. Try the Royal Hawaiian or Moana Surfrider restaurants, both with fantastic food, friendly service and a much more Hawaiian feel.

L'Aperitif is the charming bar adjacent to La Mer inside the Halekulani hotel. Men will be required to wear long pants, closed shoes, collared shirt and jacket just to grab a cocktail, but the hostess will loan you a jacket if you come without. We missed the sunset but still really enjoyed the well-crafted cocktails, light appetizers and unique ambiance... More

The cheapest meal you can get here is $110 for a 3 course meal that includes an appetizer, main course, and dessert. I order the squid appetizer, and it was about a half a cup that included sauce like a thick soup and a few bites of squid. For my entree, I ordered the abalone. The "entrée" had 3 pieces... More

This restaurant is located in the Halekulani hotel. We planned a special occasion dinner here and the staff and food were superb. A wonderful place with great design and ocean views. We started dinner at 8:30pm and were seated at a table with near one of the openings on a perfect night. Our server and his team were outstanding in... More

Went here for my birthday with my wife. The bar is fabulous with great bartenders. The menu is prix fixe with plenty of options to choose from. I started with a seared foie gras (was not on the menu but was done on request) and had duck for the main course. Both were perfectly cooked. For desert we split the... More

Date night with the Mrs. Heard about this place via trip advisor- glad I made a booking. We were served by Dan- excellent waiter who was very charismatic, knowledgeable & entertaining. We ordered the 3 course option- food was beautiful. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant with a slight view of the beach. I thought it'll be... More
