I have been at Morio's several times. great sushi and need to make reservations 3 months in advance because they only have 20 seats with two seatings a day. Now there is a catch 22. I called for my "3 month later" reservation and got the answer" we are pretty busy, and we do not want to take reservations too... More

so I came from Toronto, a city with not many Japanese population nor Japanese restaurants. the authentic sushi places in toronto are SO expensive. n i came to Hawaii, mind-blown seeing Oahu is very Japanese-dominance (which is not a bad thing). a lot of authentic japanese restaurants (not comparing to Japan of cause, but comparing to Toronto) Morio's not super... This was "my first time" at Morio's and didn't know what to expect. Was invited by my boss and his daughter to join them and 20 something of their friends and neighbors for the 8:30 pm seating on a Wednesday night. I had heard that this place had only two nightly seatings and it's booked months in advance, so I... More

morio's is the best sushi on the beach. small, intimate, morio is a great personality and has great fish. he is only open from 6? til 10 or 11 and is always packed at the first seating reservations recommended. 2 weeks in advance sometimes. there is outside seating but you dont want that. you need to be in the bar... It is my first time to eat there based on TA & yelp reviews. The restauant is small (4 seats for sushi bar & 5 tables). We orderd the sashimi platter, toro, scallop, and amaebi. All are fresh & sweet. The nigiri comes with 3 pieces. The service is excellent. The waiter even offered us the free beer. What's a... More

My friend and I heard about Morio’s from a helpful staff member from our Aqua Aloha Surf and Spa hotel when we asked for a good (but not too expensive) sushi restaurant. Although it was annoying to actually get a seat there (keep reading), it was well worth the wait! This restaurant is BYOB and very small. After a short... More

Last nite's celebration of my son-in-law's bday was one of our highlights in dining pleasure. Their new location is very tiny, but the food....oh, sooooo ono..and the fish is very fresh. We were served immediately with three apps: a nalu green salad, a pancake type dish and tofu mixture. All three were excellent and a great way to begin our... More

Morio is gifted, Morio could have a restaurant several times the size of the one he has. Morio's is so popular with those in the know that you have to make reservations days in advance, even for a party of three, and there's an excellent chance you will have to sit in the passageway at tables rather than inside (which... This place was one of our best finds in Waikiki. Period. I read review after review of sushi places in honolulu until finally deciding this was the place to go. So I called up, got morio, and found out that reservations were two days out. But, he said, I will take your number and call you if something opens up.... More

We found this place by accident while walking down Kuhio. When we first went by there were NO open seats which told us that it must be good. All of the sushi & rolls were very good and the ginger salad dressing made my mouth water for more. It is a smaller menu and the space is very quaint. I... More
