We went to Morimotos for dinner on a very busy New Year's Eve. We were not disappointed in any way. The service was impeccable our food was amazing - truly the best meal we had in Hawaii. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

I love The Modern. I have stayed there 4 times and each time dine at Morimoto at least once. On each previous occasion, the experience had been enjoyable - soaking in the beautiful Hawaiian sunset from the elegant outdoor space whilst enjoying beautiful dishes. This occasion was badly marred by the slow service - we waited over 40 minutes for... More

What impressed me the most is how relaxed the dining experience is here. I loved the clean lines of the decor. The staff are quick to provide useful recommendations. Everyone I encountered was warm and efficient. My favorite dish is the Wagyu ribeye. Worth every penny.

I had a New Year's lunch at Morimoto in New York City. On the strength of that wonderful experience I convinced a non fish-eating friend to join me at the WakiKi location when there last week. We had fabulous food again. I had been dreaming about The gyoza since Jan 1, with the delicious pork filling, the tomato purée and... More

This is one of those pricey restaurants that is probably worth the money. The service was exquisite and the food was almost thrilling by which I mean I got the Omikase and was continuously tasting flavors and combinations that were new to me. For instance, the first sushi course came with a set of condiments not sure what they were... More

Beautiful Japanese/Asian fusion dinner. Everything we had was amazing. Desert was beautiful. It is on the expensive side but well worth it.

Don't be fooled by the Iron Chef schtick. This is not a fine diner. It is a big, undoubtedly profitable operation, that churns through a heck of a lot of customers every night. (For an idea of how profitable it must be, a 2005 Stag's Leap SLV is on the wine list for $476; I bought the very same wine... More

Sorry you feel this way, Alex. We know that taste is subjective and we may not be able to please everybody, but we're proud of the food we serve. We believe, despite what you may think, that our friends and fans in Honolulu have excellent taste and very discerning palates, and we welcome the challenge of meeting their expectations. We... Great meal here, but the star of the show (of all things) were the gyoza...absolutely perfectly flavoured, stunning in there simplicity of flavours but exciting in their unique presentation. Service was very good, and the outdoor patio was a pleasure to enjoy in the warm evening breeze.

The service was a little slow, and I would have expected better from a place this high caliber The food is great and atmosphere good.

I'm glad you enjoyed the food and atmosphere! Sorry if the service was a little on the slow side. We tend to get a little crowded at dinner time, but that's no excuse for less than prompt service. I hope you'll get to visit us again soon! Cheers! Chad, General Manager More

If you have ever watched 'Iron Chef' then you know who Morimoto is. He is a legend in the culinary world. His restaurant is beautiful. His food is too. KK and I went with two gal pals and tried just about every appetizer on the menu. We started with a fried calamari salad that looked like a dome of fresh... More

It's great that you could embark on a culinary adventure with us, Sally! Sounds like you and KK made some great calls every step of the way. I'm really glad you enjoyed the tuna pizza and I bet someone could've lost a hand if they went near KK while she partook in duck plate. I'm thrilled that you had such... More
