Unique way to eat ice cream

While in Hawaii I wanted to try mochi ice cream and read that Bubbie's has the best in the US. We tried six varieties with our favourite being raspberry with white chocolate ice cream. I didn't know what to expect with the outside being made of rice but I loved it, sort of chewy but soft and then... read more

Went here after a hike, and luckily there wasn't a long line and we easily got a parking spot. I've heard the lines can get pretty long. We each got 3 different types of mochi ice cream and it was really really good! I've heard of this place before and I'm glad I went! Can't wait to go back for... More

While touted as the best place to get mochi ice cream in all of the USA, I can certify that this is most likely correct. This was some of the best mochi ice cream I've ever tasted and it comes in an absolutely insane amount of flavors. Incredible value for the price, go ahead and get 3 mochi a person!

We tried the Sakura, green tea, and chocolate peanut butter mochi ice creams. All delicious. The latter tastes like a frozen peanut butter cup. Our friend ordered vanilla ice cream and lemongrass sorbet. Both were also excellent, and the sorbet served as a palette cleaner.

Mochi ice cream was the best we ever tasted. The Mochi skin tasted fresh and not dry like the frozen ones sold in Asian Supermarket. I have tasted my fair share of the frozen ones. If you're in Honolulu, Bubbie's Ice Cream is definitely worth a visit. I recommend you buy a bucket of 12 pieces with mixed flavours.

I love their green tea mochi ice cream... hate the 20 minutes wait lines. Why the owners don't have more people working at the register??? I live in the area, every time I see a line out the door I just keep walking. And this being a 80% of the time.

If there's a line out the door its gotta be good, right? It is! Bubbies makes homemade ice cream in island and Asian flavors such as, lychee, passion fruit, guava, green tea but also in the traditional flavors as well. But why have a plain ice cream cone when you could try a ball of mochi covered ice cream? We... More

Mochi covered ice cream sounds strange but it was really pretty good. A lot of different flavors to choose from as well as traditional ice cream favorites. Be ready for lines as this is not only a favorite of the tourists but you have a ton of island locals there as well. Worth the stop so give it a try
