Great food. We will return!!

My husband and I ate here on Christmas day Dec. 2014. Reservations is a must. This is our 2nd time eating here and the food is excellent. It is similar to Benihana's but I think Tanaka is even better. The prices are fair and the service is excellent. We will definitely return the next time we... read more

Visited with 4 other friends. The steak was melt in your mouth tender. The Salmon was out of this world. This was truly a dining experience

The chef was amazing, the wait staff brilliant. We had a fun night, even my 14 year old! It had the whole package - good food, entertainment from the talented chef, sharing a table with people from other countries. Best of all we didn't have a booking, were told the wait was 15 minutes but it was only 5. Highly... More

Thought this was going to be much better than it was. Service was good, dated interior and food was about average. Miso soup was hot and we enjoyed that. The salad with ginger dressing was what you would expect. Fried rice was a let down as there were hardly any vegetables in it so pretty much just rice up paid... More

Great destination for a fun group dinner. Pricing is pretty good and servings generous. They took a photo of us and gave us a free copy which was a very nice touch :)

The young chef was very entertaining but the food is very average - basically what you get after all the magic tricks and hitting knives on counters is elaborate fried rice! We didn't add on the lobster tails after seeing them at the next table and they were very small. Wine list limited and had to ask for water. Please... More

We come here on every visit to Hawaii, for more than a decade. The food is pretty average, but good, Teppan-Yaki. Chefs are well above average on the performance level. It's very fun for the kids. I've noticed over the years though that the portions of things like rice and veggies are below average - you get about 1/2 bowl... More

It's always fun to have your food cooked in front of you and the chef did a good job of making this entertaining. The seafood selection, steak and teriyaki chicken we had was all cooked to perfection. The miso was a little watery. We would have liked to have a little more salad / vegetables for more balanced meals, but... More

Tanaka's is definitely one of the highlights of our trip when we go to Hawaii. The food is always amazing & chefs never fail to entertain. We usually go with a large group & they're very accommodating. My nieces & nephews love it. My 6 year old nephew said this place never gets old ;)

A really good meal prepared at the table by a personable and entertaining chef who put on a bit of a show as well. Our family had a set menu which included a small salad, miso soup, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, bean sprouts and shrimp as well as steak, chicken and salmon that was all was beautifully cooked to order....
