This is the place to go in Honolulu for really good authentic japanese food at a reasonable (for Hawaii standard) prices. Great selection for eating there or for take out. Plus the incredible $2 beer deal in the afternoon is not to be missed.

Did we open a door to Asia? Is this a portal to another dimension full of amazing food and cheap beer? We really didn't know how to handle this place. It stands in stark contrast to all the fancy designer stores in the mall, but this is what makes Hawaii great. We had an amazing experience in Shirokiya. We decided... More

This food court came highly recommended. We all had ramen noodles however we did not find good value in the food. Did not really get in quantity what we paid for. It was extremely crowded and it took some time to find a table. When we did we had to find someone to clean off the table. It was a... More

A food court serving mostly authentic Japanese foods, from ramen to yakisoba, bento, tempura, sushi, sashimi ... All the variety one could want, at reasonable prices. Japanese beer and sake available, as well. Located near the east end of Ala Moana Shopping Center opposite Macy's. Ample parking, easy to find. You will feel like you are in Japan, except everything... More

We find some of the best bentos here. This is a 'must' on any trip to Waikiki for us. Even if you come later in the day, you'll find many items that have been reduced in price, which makes it great value. I also love the used book and DVD/CD store found downstairs.

Upstairs from the department store is a mishmash of food stalls-cheek to jowl ramen, bento boxes, gyoza, rice bowls, yogurt treats, and mystery foods. Grab something interesting and try to find a place to sit at the family style long tables. There's beer to buy if you're so inclined. Loved stepping out of Honolulu and straight into Tokyo.

I read up on the Ala Moana Center before my trip, good thing because I had a couple hours to kill before heading to the airport to go home. Unfortunately I already had lunch with friends at the Makai Market food court, so I could not take full advantage of the one in Shirokiya. Shirokiya itself is this funky little... More

This shopping store is a bit different. At first glace, it looks like a mini two story shopping mall within the Ala Moana shopping center. On the first floor you have mid/high end handbags for sale. Then you see a mini vitamin and healthcare store. Next to it you see massage chairs for sale that you can demo and another... More

Went to Shirokiya last night with a friend who was visiting the islands. We knew this was a a place he had to experience. From the moment you walk in, you are overwhelmed with the options here. If you are hungry, you are going to have a very hard time making up your mind, because everything looks so good. You... More
