Counter meal...similiar to Friendly's. Average food.

My kids enjoyed eating at the counter, and since we were there around 3pm, on a weekday, in March, the place was virtually empty. We ordered an appetizer sampler. It was your typical frozen, bagged fare. Nothing special. Ice cream was good, but again, nothing to write home about. Prices are... read more

It was your typical frozen, bagged fare. Nothing special. Ice cream was good, but again, nothing to write home about. Prices are reasonable. Had I been hungrier, I may have tried... More

I went to Newport Creamery with some friends for lunch. Our waiter forgot to put in my order and was extremely apathetic about it. He didn't even apologize or seem to care. The only reason I'm giving it two stars (instead of one) is because the manager was kind enough to take my meal off the bill. The food was... More

Best described as "old school". A lunch counter and interesting combinations of sandwiches. Prices are great, as there aren't too many places in Newport where 2 people can have lunch for under $20. Breakfast was just OK. Our server was new and didn't know he difference between over easy eggs and sunny side up eggs. I asked if the corned... More

Their ice cream was not too sweet, we liked it. Check your bill though, we were charged extra for an item that was specifically noted on their menu to be included in the dish. After a few back and forth with the wait staff, they were honored the price on the menu.

One MUST go for the AWFU-AWFUL - the Newport special milk shake. If I recall it is Mondays that has the two for one - two locations - one on the Middletown side and one in Newport on Bellevue Ave. Great for breakfast.

When we entered the restaurant, it was not busy and we were advised that someone would seat us soon. It took quite a while for someone to seat us. Considering the place was almost empty, that was unacceptable. My husband had a burger and I had a salad. The salad was okay. I have had much better. My husband said... More

I always make a point to eat at the creamery when I'm in newport. They never fail to make me satisfied. Wonderful service and delicious food. Prices are fair and portions are good. The home made ice cream is definitely a must try!

Growing up in Newport in the '50's & '60's, a Saturday morning treat after shopping at Almacs and Perrotti's drug store was to have hot chocolate and English muffin...after being away for 40+ years, I had a couple of lunches there during my visit to Newport during my 50th prep school reunion week. It was the best looking shop/restaurant in... More

We travel to Newport RI often and when we don't want to get caught up in the visitors on Thames or America's Cup, we head to the Newport Creamery. Not fancy and just the right amount of choices to pick from. If you like milk shakes, the Awful Awful is amazing.
