Defintely a dive bar. Fun time but sketchy, drunken crowd.

The first thing you see when you walk in is the dog. There's a large golden retriever who seems to run the place. I'm not sure how the RI health dept feels about this but it was awesome. When we went, Santacon was winding up at this bar. There were lots of drunken Santas around us. Too much... read more

My Fiancé & I rang in the New Year at One Pelham and had soooo much fun!! The band (The Kulprits) was amazing. The set list was a wide variety of genres. The crowd was of mixed ages, mainly 25 & under but with myself & fiancé being in our 40's & 50's we felt right at home. Cold beer,... More

One Pelham East is a weird, crowded, dirty bar on Thames Street in Newport, RI...ground zero for tourists. The place is filthy. Your shoes will stick to the floor, your shirtsleeves to the bartop. Service is surly and sullen. The bartenders range from dismissive and indifferent to crude and judgemental ("Whaddya wanna drink THAT for?!") Every employee is subtly hostile,... More

We had no set plans so after having dinner we wanted to go somewhere for a few drinks. One Pelham East was literally located just down the street from the B&B we were staying at. The place was crowded when we arrived around 8pm. We found two seats at the bar. It became clear a large band was setting up.... More

Went in for some drinks and to listen to some local music (Little Compton Band). The staff was great and the drinks were good, but my god, put some money into fixing up the disgusting bathrooms. The men's room is a sting of urinals on top of each other and one stall with no door. No paper towel or hand... More

Great place to grab a drink and enjoy the entertainment they have. Beware the don't accept credit cards but do have an ATM inside and there is a Bank of America ATM across the street. Drinks are average price for Newport ($8-10 mixed drinks & $5 drafts) Crowd is younger.

I booked a VIP booth at Studio 3, which is inside One Pelham East upstairs, for our bachelorette party of 10 guests this past weekend. We selected the "Catwalk VIP" which included the ladder and catwalk to the DJ booth (PERFECT for dancing above the public dance floor), our own waitress, security guard, 4 small stairs leading to our "area"... A group of us were there the Week of December 30 - January 5, 2013. WE had a blast. The employees were the best. We ended up there New Years's Eve (five of us) no reservations, and ended up eating and staying for the music and late night festivities. We went back twice during that week. We thought the food... One Pelham is a good place to go and watch a band. they usually have good local bands playing there. The drinks are a little pricey but dont forget you are in Newport. I recommend checking it out.
