Great deal - beautiful restaurant!

My husband and I made reservations for the Canfield House based on all the good reviews on trip advisor - and we were so intrigued by the 2 for $35 deal!! Seriously..two meals and a bottle of wine for $35 total. Can't beat that. We had a short walk from our Inn on Spring Street. There is a large... read more

The Canfield Restaurant is located in a lovely room of an old casino. The lobster/scallop pie was excellent as well as the scallop entree. It is in walking distance of downtown, close to Tennis Hall of Fame. excellent wait service.

Great food, great service, great ambiance. The Canfield House never disappoints. The chef at Canfield's is a cut above the rest. In a town with lots of good restaurants, to me the Canfield is a stand out. We make sure to go to Canfield's each time we get to Newport

Four of us dined here on a Saturday evening, celebrating a first wedding anniversary of our son and daughter-in-law. We were pleasantly greeted by Maggie, the restaurant owner, who wished our son and his wife a happy anniversary upon seating us. We ordered 3 different appetizers: Lamb chops, mussels, and scallops wrapped in bacon. Everything was delicious. For our entrees... More

Within walking distance of our hotel, but conveniently located on Memorial Blvd with parking if need be, Impeccable service. Charming decor. Fresh seafood, quality meat, decent wine list. My date started with the soup of the day, turkey vegetable and I had the appetizer recommended by our server: 4 large grilled shrimp on slices of buffalo mozzarella glazed with balsamic... More

This is the restaurant to go to if you are NOT looking for a loud and modern atmosphere. This is actually the inside of Newport's only Casino from way back when(read about it on the restaurant website)..The wood work and architectural details are amazing! The dining room has a rich warmth to it and is not too crowded with tables.... More

The restaurant, like so many places in Newport, has a storied past. The food is remarkable. Very well done and the presentation was great. The staff and chef went out of their way to make our Valentine's dinner memorable.

I found this a difficult review to write. We had reservations. When the hostess went to seat us she took us to the center of a large dining room when there were seats available on the side. I asked to be seated near the wall as I preferred not to have people passing on both sides of the table. She... More

Someone at Waves salon recommended this restaurant to us (we never would have found it) and we had the best meal (celebrating a few birthdays). The atmosphere is so different than most of the restaurants by the water, so that was unique and fun. Some of the old gambling things are still there. Really cool painting behind the bar. Our... probably our favorite restaurant in Newport. Maggie and team go out of their way with service, menu choices, convenient parking, courteus staff and wonderful food.
