We've had wonderful meals here in the past. I think we made a mistake going for the special week night meal deal. Won't do that again. We did have appetizers off the regular menu which were great - scallops with caprese salad and grilled rib lamb chops.

Housed in a Victorian home that once belonged to Richard Canfield, "The Prince of Gamblers", is a gem of a restaurant. Our little Bichon dog was welcomed to join us in their lively outdoor area. Our waitress and bartender, Denise went out of her way to make us feel welcomed. She suggested we take advantage of their wine and dine... More

My family visited Canfield house on a Tuesday nite last week. We were seated outside and waited on by the bartender. He was excellent! We ordered mussles as an app...they were huge and very tasty. Husbands seafood pie was extremely generous with the lobster! Our son ordered the lobster mac and cheese from the app list, it was hugh! Salmon... More

My husband and I got the linguini with white clam sauce. My other friend, the tilapia. For an appy we got grilled shrimp over mozzarella... More

We arrived a little later than our reservation - but were greeted with with a smile. We had a delicious meal starting with an appetizer of 4 grilled shrimp layered on top of fresh mozarella cheese and an heirloom tomato topped with arugula pesto. We shared a scallop and lobster pie which was creamy and deliciously seasoned. We finished our... More

So.... I read low reviews and high reviews. I tend to go with the middle. But this place, from it's ownership to it's bar staff to it's food was one of the best experiences I've had. I hate being a tourist. I live in NYC, and, well, they bother me. So going to another town I really try not to... More

Off the beaten path, if you are looking for a great setting, with a lovely atmosphere.... this is your place. We choose outdoor setting which was fantastic, but the interior is breathtaking. We had a started mushroom ravioli. Followed by the Filet and Lobster Tail and the Rack of lamb- both amazing. Quiet and intimate for a very private dinner,... More

My husband and I enjoyed another wonderful dinner with my sister and brother-in-law on August 7th.The food and service was the usual fine quality. My filet mignon was superb. Only sorry we did not get a chance to see Maggie, but were still treated with the friendliness of the staff.
