Had a fabulous dinner at Canfield House. The Oysters Canfield had to be the best baked oysters we've ever eaten! Four of us also shared the mussels & clams, and the wild mushroom ravioli appetizers. Delicious! All dinners were also amazing... and the service was exceptional. We will return and will definitely recommend.

My husband and I enjoyed our dinner. The shrimp appetizer was absolutely delicious. I ordered short ribs, that were tender and delicious. Could have used mashed potatoes with dish, however he root vegetables were a nice accompaniment. My husband had prime rib, he enjoyed all not a morsel left!!!

We were a few minutes early, but were promptly seated in the dining room that has an "old Newport" atmosphere, including an absolutely beautiful carved wood ceiling. The waiter quickly took our drink order, and after pouring our wine, took our dinner order. Two had pear salads and I had onion soup which wasn't very flavorful. One person in my... More

Over the years, I have eaten in many good restaurants in Newport - Christies, The Pier, La Forge, all of them excellent and at the top of my list for preparation and quality. I find it hard to equate even these fine establishments with the Canfield House on Memorial Blvd, near Bellevue Ave. Make no mistake, the meals can be... More

We had a bottle of wine, grilled romaine salad, lobster mac and cheese, seafood alfredo and lamb chops......what a wonderful meal and great service to boot. Our innkeeper at the Hydrangea House Inn recommended the restaurant and we were not disappointed.
