Great oysters!

If you manage to get a bar seat, you can be entertained by arguably the best shuckers in Newport! My heart brought me to Newport 22 years ago, and this place was just perfect for two young people discovering each other. The food, atmosphere, and company was intoxicating, and the price was perfect for a young man on a budget. We still come here and relive old memories. Bon Appetit!

Four of us came here for breakfast/brunch. We were seated quickly and given a breakfast menu as well as a lunch menu. Our waitress came to get our order and we all ordered mimosas. After 10 minutes, and no mimosa, she finally came to get our food order. (We think the bartender left the building...). When we all started to... More

We went to dinner here on our first night in Newport. We were referred here by hotel staff. We ordered the Prime Rib special and Benjamin's casserole. The food was good in that the prices were very reasonable. We didn't think that the food was exceptionally memorable or over the top but rather this is a place where many of... More

I've been coming to Benjamin's since moving to this area for college...many, MANY years ago ;) The food is always good, plentiful, and served with a smile. It gets crowded in Benjamin's, especially on weekends, so don't go expecting a quiet place. You'll be rubbing elbows with your fellow diners or drinkers. Upstairs or down, it's pubby, its New England-y,... More

Benjamin's is a raw bar/ seafood restaurant. It us a simple bar with tables, but loads of character and great good. Nice wait staff too. I had the linguini with shrimp, scallops, cod, squid in a spicy red sauce and it was to die for. My daughter had it in an aioli wine and garlic sauce and that was also... More

Benjamin's was recommended by several people and the on-line reviews were good, but our experience was different. My wife first ordered the shrimp scampi with pasta and it was like no shrimp scampi with pasta she had ever had before -- she sent it back. In place of that she ordered the house specialty -- slow roasted prime rib. Although... More

Small restaurant located upstairs. Nice view of downtown Newport. I had the cod w lobster sauce and asparagus. Absolutely Delicious ! Huge piece of cod. House Pinot Grigio was very good. House salad had julienne carrots and fresh cucumbers. Hubby had Salad w grilled chicken. We will definitely be back!
