What more can I say. Raw clams at 50 cents, oysters & huge shrimp a dollar! Friendly service, fun place. Get a table upstairs. Make a reservation.

When we are in Newport, we have to go to Benjamin's for fried oysters. They are so fresh. Today we went and had an amazing bartender. We started talking about oysters and clams and he asked if I liked raw clams. I said no they are gross. He said that he has a special way of eating them, his Dad... More

One of the best bargains in Newport, one dollar oysters from noon 'til 2 at Benjamin's. You did not get a choice of type of oyster, but it didn't matter, Those were the BEST oysters on the half shell that I have had in years! Even my fellow diners who had only had oysters once or twice in their life... More

We decided to try Benjamin's for dinner on our first night in Newport since there were a number of positive reviews and it was only about a quarter mile away from our B&B. We didn't' have a reservation so we waited for about half an hour across from the bar upstairs. Seated next to us on the bar were boxes... More

We discovered this place several years ago on a cold, rainy day. It was raw bar Tuesday, and we availed ourselves of oysters, clams, and scallops on the half shell for crazy low prices. The deal was only on for 2 hours, so we hurried back today for round 2, arriving 2 minutes before the witching hour. But guess what?... More

I was there for the Newport International Boat show. Great weather this year with only a little rain one day. I went to Benjamin's most mornings for breakfast and, while not really outstanding was quite good. However, I went one evening for dinner. Now I like the end cut of Prime Rib, the "real" end, not the piece that just... More

Every time my wife and I visit Newport we make an effort to stop into Benjamin's. As always the food was top notch. From the classic clams casino for appetizer to the Seafood Linguini that I had and my wife's pork chop and bacon wrapped scallops - all fantastic. This is one of the "musts" to stop and have a... We go to Newport every year and pass by this Restaurant as it looked tiny and dark. Someone recommended to try the upstairs dining area. What a great treat! The dining room was bright, busy and absolutely enjoyable! The staff is friendly, menu was grand, food was wonderful! Only downside I would say was the bar was a bit backed... More

Benjamins does a great job with breakfast. You feel like you are in Irish pub after a hard night of drinking. It is dark and rustic, it is not fancy.
