this is what I would consider pub food in the UK, it is a restaurant, but nothing posh, food is good and always cooked well, nothing fancy, just done well. Also well priced

Sat at the bar and kicked off a conversation with locals. Food is great and cheap before 7pm. I have lobster and another had a streak. The happy hour meal price is $13-14 with big portion sizes.

We had fish on one visit, tuna and swordfish, and both were cooked perfectly and delicious. We tried the lobster on our second visit ($13.95 between 4 and 7 every day) and that was also good.... We arrived at the restaurant at 9:30pm and were told there would be a 30 to 40 minute wait in spite of the dining room only being half full. After about 10 minutes when no tables were seated we asked and the hostess informed us that there were factors that we could not possible understand about seating a restaurant and... More

So glad my friend told us to go to Benjamin's during our stay in Newport!!! Very casual and not fine dining, but great food for great value!! They have an awesome Early Bird Special from 4pm-7pm for $13.95!!! Your choice of Lobster, Baked Haddock or Prime Rib. Three of us dined on dozen oysters, N.E. clam chowder, 2 lobsters, a... More

I've eaten in many seafood restaurants as I live near Annapolis, Maryland and I travel regularly. This place was in the top five maybe even the top three of seafood restaurants I've dined. I had the lobster and it was absolutely terrific (and not expensive either). My husband had the seafood casserole and it was fantastic. The service was just... More

Benjamin's offers exactly what you would expect from seaside location. The seafood is super fresh and won't break your wallet. The raw bar selection is fantastic. If you are with a group of people the " Mother Shucker" is the way to go. Oysters, littlenecks, lobster, shrimp and crab all one one platter. There are also plenty of non seafood... More
