I was looking for something small so I sat at the bar and looked at the menu. A few things interested me so I went for it. Great food at a great price. The bartender was great to chat with and he knew the menu. I didn't get something small but had a great meal.

It is easy to pass by this dining/bar establishment and not realize there is an upstair dining area. Benjamins serves the best calamari that i have had so far and of course the fresh clams. I was also lucky that today was the day they decided to try a new dessert, grand mariner chocolate cheese cake with dark chocolate and... More

Was there on Friday of Labor Day weekend for lunch. Not very busy, which was nice. If a 3rd floor exists as noted in previous reviews they didn't let us sit there. My lobster and chowder was just that, no slaw or potato. The lobster was overcooked (easy to tell by the white 'stuff' that appears on the meat). Not... More

This restaurant came highly recommended by our hotel and for a good reason. It's a lovely restaurant on the street across the harbor (Thames street) but not a tourist trap. Prices are reasonable, portions are huge (OMG the fish and chips!) and all the seafood we ordered was excellent! We can definitely pass on the recommendation!!

Tuesdays are raw bar happy hour all day..Best staff in Newport. If you're inclined sit at the bar first floor for the total atmosphere. Why go anywhere else.

Stopped for lunch to try the raw bar for oysters and clams - fantastic. My wife wanted a late breakfast and opted for eggs over with what she described as the best corned beef hash she ever tasted (homemade). Only negative was the home fires came out cold - quickly replaced. The service at the counter was friendly and efficient.... More

Fabulous old building with character. Heaping big portions - too much for us. Good food. As Canadians, miss having real maple syrup on my pancakes and french toast.

Randomly stopped for lunch and glad we did. Sat upstairs in the back room that was open with a view of the harbor area. Great prices on the raw bar from 12 to 2 so I ordered the oysters and clams which were very good. Lobster grilled cheese is terrific and the fresh lobster at $14.95 or 2 for $19.95... More
