Using the name "spa" here is misleading...this restaurant is actually a "hole-in-the-wall breakfast diner", where every worker is "tiny" and efficient. lol . But the food's taste is big, and portion size even bigger! The recipes are creative.. you can get more than eggs and toast. My favorite is the French toast (Portuguese bread) stuffed with cream cheese and blueberries.... More

The best breakfast in Newport. If you do not get there early on the weekend be prepared to wait.It is not fancy but a great friendly staff and great food makeup for the wait.No credit card cash only.Good selection of large portions of breakfast food for brunch.I recommend Franklin Spa and go for brunch every visit to Newport.

My partner opted for breakfast and I went for lunch- in both categories we picked well. The Portuguese Sailor was one of the best sandwiches I've had and the eggs benny were solid as well. A greasy spoon worth the trip.

This is a great place for breakfast. Old-fashioned storefront luncheonette styled restaurant with good food, good service and fair prices.

Recommended by our hotel, the Franklin Spa was a great place for breakfast. We had to wait outside in the rain for about 10 minutes to get a table at this cozy diner on a Saturday morning, but it was worth it. The restaurant offers standard brunch type fare with a few very good specials which are posted outside. The... More

Found this spot as it was close to our hotel by the wharf. The breakfast was great, fresh and served fast. We even bought their hot sauce it was so good.

My wife ordered the banana stuffed french toast and I ordered the chorizo wrap. The food was excellent. Service was only so-so. My wife was offered pure maple syrup with our french toast, and the waitress noted it would be an upcharge. We should have asked how much of an upcharge before saying yes. Got the bill it was a... My husband and I found this place on trip advisor and it didn't disappoint us. We both had eggs benedict - his with ham, mine with sausage and they were very good. The home fries were nothing to write home about. Service was good. Place is nothing fancy - but it's cute and retro. Off the beaten track on the... More

Walked by here a few times and read the reviews and ate our last breakfast here. Agree with other reviewers, small whole in the wall, local place, lots of small tables can see the grill cook making breakfast. Coffee really good and offers fresh squeezed OJ. Had the blueberry muffin which was dry and tasteless. Husband had the pecan pancakes... More
