We picked Red Parrot our first night in Newport and were disappointed. It did not taste like fresh seafood and we left saying our meal felt like we had been at an Applebee's or Ruby Tuesday's. Our waiter disappeared for about ten minutes while we were waiting for our check. With so many great restaurants in Newport, I would not... More

We were in Newport, Rhode Island for a family getaway just before christmas. We had dinner at the Red Parrot twice while we were there and we were not disappointed at all. Good food, friendly staff and a warm and comfortable athmosphere. We Will go again.

Stopped in for a salad and soup. Had a great bowl of lobster bisque and a salad. Great meal and great price.

We walked into the Red Parrot on New Year's Eve, 2014, without reservations, because when we called, the earliest one was at 9:30, so we took our chances. We were seated in 15 minutes. The staff was friendly and efficient. The food and drinks were very good.

Fun place with good food. Our work had a drinks and dinner function on the top level. The food was good and the service was okay. This place is probably a better experience going with friends for lunch or dinner. Location is on the main strip (Thames Street) and central to downtown Newport.

We went to Red Parrot for a drink and a dessert, and the brownie fudge sundae was decadent! A great place to share a dessert that isn't as fancy as some of the restaurants around town.

We ate here twice on our trip and both times we had a great meal. My boyfriend had the Rasta Pasta the first day, and loved it. I ordered one of their mini pizzas (this is big enough to share! I ended up bringing 2/3s home!). They have great beer on tap and the first day we enjoyed a Lagunitas... More
