The only problem is that one would expect all of Newport restaurants to be as good this place. It's not.

While visiting the area for Family Weekend at URI, we were walking around Newport, got hungry and came upon this place. Menu looked good so we went in. It was lunch time Friday and it was crowded so we thought that was a good sign. We were sat quickly by a very friendly, smiley hostess. The decor is cool -... More

A very busy and popular eating place akin to a large UK gastronpub. It is best to book in advance but if you turn up on spec and there is no free table they will take your name and give you an estimate on how long to wait. The food was very and good quantities and of a reasonable price.... More

Every time I am in Newport I make it A POINT to eat at this restaurant. Even though it is fairly large inside you will usually have to wait a while to be seated so if you have a large party, call ahead. However, once you are seated prepare to be stuffed! Soup and salad bar are often included with... More

My wife and I tried to have dinner here last July at the height of the tourist season, but the wait would have been too long for us. We were back in Newport today (mid-November) for lunch so there was no wait. I'm glad we went back. Very nice salad bar, good burger, very friendly service and I thought that... More

First: MAKE RESERVATIONS!! If not, be prepared for an hour long wait, at least for dinner on the weekends. We waited (my husband and I), and went window shopping in the meantime. There's a reasons why this is known as the "best restaurant in Newport". They did seat us in the exact wait time quoted, so we had no complaints... More

This place came highly recommended from several people. I want expecting much though, as it's a giant, loud, bustling pub type atmosphere. However, food is far from typical bar fare. Homemade chowder was delectable and my husbands chicken was succulent. Homemade coleslaw with my lobster roll!

We went for dinner based on recommendations and had a great experience. Loved the atmosphere. Menu is full of large portion comfort foods, but with an upscale edge. We were in town on business and the food / service was so good we went back a second night. It was every bit as good the second time. Large beer, wine,... More

My wife and I had lunch at the Brick Alley, she had the Lobster Roll, best she ever had. Service was great. Will definitely stop again when in town.

Have to say there was a bit of a wait but the food was delicious and the atmosphere is charming! The staff was helpful and friendly...worth the wait!
