Started the busy Saturday night by getting a parking spot right in front of the restaurant (awesome). After a warm greeting we found ourselves seated in high energy bistro/cafe.The adventurous menu did not disappoint. Started with a bottle of Savignon Blanc, a bottle of Cabernet, the Escargot (very good), Foie Gras "Bruleè" (awesome) and Warm Gorganzola Sour Dough (average). Main... More

Most of the night life and restaurants in Newport are along the waterfront. Follow America's Cup Ave from north to south then the street turns into Thames Street. We were in Newport on a very busy Summer weekend and it was impossible to get into any place for dinner except after a long wait. On our second night, we walked... More

Great meal with interesting combinations. My husband had the fried lobster, which was an interesting preparation, but very good. My filet was a bit undercooked, but the waitress was very accommodating and it was returned to me quickly. There were four in our party. We each chose different entrees and were all satisfied.

We went here because of the reviews for the clam chowder and lobster. The calamari was excellent. A light breading and cooked nicely. The clam chowder was a little wimpy. Not many clams so the overall flavor was somewhat tasteless. But I like Manhattan style better anyway so I'm not a great judge. The chicken fried lobster was a disappointment.... More

On a chilly May evening, we were visiting some mansion houses, known as 'cottages' for a glimpse to a ridiculous extravaganza of the Golden days. And, Finally, we pulled our car and walked around Thames St before the commercial strip turned into the residential area. We stopped and checked TA app on my smartphone. It suggested there were 3-4 nice... More

Trying to find a restaurant in Newport that isn't full of those who have just stepped off a boat or loud youngsters is not easy but Thames street around the 500 mark has a few to offer. Cafe Zelda manages to have good food and a nice atmosphere. We had the Charcuterie to start between us and then followed with... More

We were there during restaurant week and had a reservation, which was needed. The menu had something to please anyones palate. The calamari was tender and one of the best I ever had. The service was very good as well. Clear to see why this is one of the top rated restaurants in Newport.

would you like some bread? maybe they keep it outside or in the fridge but on a cold winters night I'm not too much a fan of ice cold bread. The dinner menu was limited so we just opted for soup and I had the salad my husband had the mussel appetizer. Soup had a distinct flavor of all things... More
