Good vibes

I was on the one day adventure through Newport and found this place through reviews. It was the right Scheutz as the location was very charming and the reggae music was very soothing. They had interesting cocktails and a diverse menu. I enjoyed my Thai Pad and the portion was very generous.

Ah, Sunday morning (or closer to Noon) and looking for a great Brunch in Newport, RI. The previous Friday we had taken a Rhode Island Red Food Tour of Newport that started at Salvation Cafe. So, my wife and I decided to look on-line to see if they had a Brunch...and they did. Now this place is owned by a... More

Have enjoyed several meals here, kinda funky and a place with character but the food is very good and maybe even excellent.

Second time to the Salvation Cafe, and it did not disappoint. We are a family of 5 w/ kids ranging from 11- 20 yrs. Great cocktails for adults, and lots of selection on menu, including more than one vegetarian entree which is a rare find in many restaurants. The dining room opens out to a great patio with a tiki... More

This used to be my favorite local spot but it has gone downhill in the past few years. There is no longer a kids menu, the pad thai is only passable and the last two times I have been there they have been unable to make the signature fried spinach which was the one reason I continued to go. The... More

Another gem off the beaten path. The cafe has a very local feel and the food was quite good. Don't dress up..... this is a comfort food place with an above average chef.

The food is usually very good but it seems the menu has become a bit more limited over the years. Best in summer when the patio seating is available.

Service fine, food nice and reasonably priced, but.. we all had a main course of scallops. all the ingredients and the presentation were good, but the balance of the plate was awry. it had a quinoa and cauli base instead of rice (good), needed more caulk and less quinoa. The jus around needed more of it. The scallops were good,... More

I had my daughter's bridal shower in the private room upstairs--perfect, in every way! We had 27 people and could accommodate 20 more. The room has high cathedral ceiling with windows and glass doors on two sides. It was a very hot humid day but with large ceiling fans and doors open to the balconies we were very comfortable with...
