I was pleasantly surprised to find this place and some of the surrounding bars and restaurants in this cool little neighborhood. Sometimes you can get a little burned out on the seafood places on Thames street and the wharf areas. This was a nice change. The food was health-conscious and very tasty - creative menu, lots of vegetables served in... More

Was served deliciously fresh salmon that was cooked to perfection with a side of fried seaweed and pickled ginger slices. Never had eaten seaweed or pickled ginger but enjoyed them both as well. Service was great. All details taken care of by their efficient staff. Highly recommended.

Newport is full of great restaurants and Salvation deserves to be on that list! Its full of character from the funky decor to the staff (all of them very cool), plays great music, has a menu that doesn't overwhelm you with choices and they make some pretty mean cocktails. Can get a bit noisy but for me thats all part... More

We sat outside--pleasant setting. We ordered appetizers--fried calamari and pork belly pizza. Both were well executed. The entrees were excellent. My daughter and husband photographed all of them--the presentation was very well done. We had swordfish, tuna ratatouille, and a sort of mexican style ravioli. All were excellent. The tuna was slightly overdone. We also had desserts--the chocolate, banana purses... More

A very unique menu, with bold and carefully thought out pairings. Make sure to stop at the bar for a "one of a kind" cocktail and ask for Derek!

Very friendly cool waitress - chili was good but not hot enough - mains of ravioli and pad Thai were good but portion sizes are huge! Good value. Quiet when we went would recommend but nicer views and seafood elsewhere like the moorings or Bowen 22

A funky, late night spot that we hit up for dinner and drinks. I'm amiss to all the dishes we ordered but what I do recall was lobster & pasta, mussels, and a fish dish (?). Either way we enjoyed everything and the drinks.

We tried this restaurant on the recommendation of our B&B host and really enjoyed it. It is outside the tourist area (but walking distance) and has a fun ambience with really good food. We will go again the next time we stay in Newport.

I went to school nearby, and came here many times on Saturday nights with friends. The design is eclectic - and it works. There was a stuffed chicken on a fleur de lis lampshade on one of my visits, and somehow the whole place still looked put together. The service is great, friendly waitstaff, an they are quick even when... More

We have been eating at this restaurant every year during the Newport Folk Festival, and this year we were a party of 9. The reservation was handled perfectly and we were seated at a great table right up front. Compared to many Newport establishments, this place is very reasonable, especially for the quality and creativity of the food.
