The menu looked very exciting and we were ready for a treat. We had a party of four with mixed reviews. The Pros: Lovely restaurant (recommend sitting outside) and very friendly staff Great timing on food and drinks Good value on food, the drinks were stiff and the wine was affordable. We loved the pork belly pizza app, as well... More

"a person who derives ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources." What is really means is a mixmash of things without any focus which describes the food at Salvation. Look at the photos of the food-it looks like someone threw up on the plate. Electic is also a suburban code for things being different, but... More

This cozy, eclectic, fun joint is a bit off the path but well worth it. As others have stated it is a bit of an oasis in the high energy of Newport...and the sometimes "high brow" restaurant scene around there. The decor style is modern art, with a touch of island voodoo.... Or something...hard to describe. But a great vibe... More

I've had dinner here a few times and breakfast a few times as well. Burrito is amazing, dinner is good too. Good beers and a nice place in the back where you can hang at the tiki bar. I'd definitely go back here.

It's definitely not a New England Colonial type restaurant. You feel like you're at the beach but laid back style. The food was very good and relaxing. No one is in a hurry so take your time. You're on vacation after all. The doors were open so the wind was blowing and even though we were inside, you felt like... More

The Salvation Cafe is part of the strip along Broadway that has become an away- from- the- tourist- madness enclave for those preferring good food and no crowds. We walked from our inn and entered a piece of art. Colorful, eclectic and artsy are words used to describe the interior. The light fixtures were almost as entertaining as the food!... More

We visited over Memorial Day weekend & all of the breakfast places are jammed. I wanted to try Salvation Cafe & I believe it was the owner or mgr who allowed us to take a booth before they opened (15 mins early) and before the bartender/staff arrived for their shift. He was very nice about it & welcoming. The place... More

We've been to Newport many times but never to the Salvation Café on 140 Broadway until we passed it the other day on a walk. Although easily dismissed if you just look at the front, the Tiki Hut and patio in the back won us over. Even better was the excellent food. We started with a very filling salmon and... More

We love eating at Salvation Cafe when we visit Newport! They have an expansive space (so we've never had to wait!) The atmosphere and decor is so funky and each room is decorated differently. Just a fun place! We really enjoy ourselves every time. Last visit my partner ordered the Pad Thai and I the cornish game hen. Both were... More
