Cibo fantastico!

It was a frigidly old February night, but we were wamed by this pleasant Italian neighborood restaurant. The food was nice especially the mushroom brochetta and the pasta dishes. The wait staff was very friendly.

Simply amazing. Ate here on Valentines Day and it was just as romantic as it was delicious. Simple food, exceptionally prepared, just couldn't have enjoyed dinner here more. Shout out to Sophie for taking such good care of us.

We live in Newport and Mamma Luisa's is a favorite destination for us. We especially love it in the winter because of it's warm and cozy atmosphere. There is no better location for those nights you are craving a wonderful pasta dinner and a glass of red wine. The staff is always knowledgeable and professional and the food is ALWAYS... More

Went to Mamma Luisa on a really cold night with the family. Food and the setting were perfect, nice, warm and cozy. Everyone was so welcoming and the food was out of this world. Felt like we were eating at someone's home for Sunday Italian Dinner. Everything was made fresh. We had the Tagliatelle Bolognese, the Pork Tenderloin and the... More

It was a cold snowy Sunday evening in Newport with already deep piles of snow bordering the streets and sidewalks. I found myself in the city on business. The hotel restaurant looked attractive but it was too expensive for my budget. So consulting with my fellow Trip Advisors, With an important meeting the following day, I couldn't risk seafood-borne illness... More

Coming from a nyc living , i have high expectations for a fine dining Italian restaurant. This place was cozy and the food was good. The head waiter seemed to be on top of his game , however our waiter was a bit nervous and his service was mediocre. If food wasn't so good I woulda gave 2 stars ...... More

Excellent Italian restaurant with an extensive vegetarian selection, which my wife loved. Our server was excellent and very helpful with explaining the vegetarian dishes for my wife. Our dishes were excellent. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. They have great wine list as well!!

Mama Luisa is an excellent restaurant that puts you back in Italy the minute you arrive. The food is like home-cooked old style Sunday afternoon dinner at Mamas' house. Selection is more than ample, to satisfy any taste for "Italian". The only complaint I have, is that the waitress refused, after being asked twice,to write separate checks for us ,... More

We've been to Newport a few times & attempted to go to Mamma Luisa's twice before. We always seemed to get it wrong. Be sure to check the times before you go. This time, tho, we got it right & I'm so glad we did. Parking is not fabulous - just a very small lot (3-4 cars) in the back,... More
