Dessert and after dinner drink - Yes

Sat at the bar for drinks and dessert. The bartender provided excellent service. The only regret was that we did not eat dinner there! Be prepared to pay for parking, $10, when you enter the lot. Hand the server the ticket and you get the $10 back. Would absolutely go back.

The Mooring is the perfect dining experience. Great atmosphere, service and the food is always great. Love the chowder and lobster roll. The brussel sprouts, yes brussel sprouts are delicious. Do not leave Newport without going to the Mooring.

Great location on the waterfront, validated parking (you pay $10 going into the lot, then get reimbursed at the restaurant). Menu with good selection of seafood and also meat entrees; we enjoyed our meal very much, but we were particularly impressed with how careful the staff were once we mentioned our son's food allergies (which included seafood, not easy with... We had two meals at the Mooring, and both were delicious to a tee. Service was excellent, and management were making regular rounds to make sure all was going well. Will not hesitate to return.

Loved the tuna, the bag of doughnuts which are made from seafood, the bread was so good. My husband had the fish and chips. Our server was knowledgeable and honest. She guided my decision and I am so thankful she suggested the tuna. The decor is great and having dinner at sunset was delightful.

It is amazing what nice places you can find just by searching the net. We were not disappointed with the service nor the meal. The price didn't seem out of the ordinary for us at all.

I have ben going to the Mooring for the last 35 years. They have progressed from a casual run down restaurant in the 70's to an upscale restaurant now. Throughout the years, the restaurant has always had the best seafood anywhere. Their chowdah is absolutely the best anywhere! The shrimp cocktail and lobster tail appetizer are perfect. The mussels are... More

My husband and I opted to have a cozy night ordering in. The restaurant advertised a prefixed offering on their website as well as on their menu posted outside of the restaurant. When i called to order takeout I was told it wasn't available as they were gearing up for restaurant week. ??(It was visibly displayed that very day) We... More

Been to Newport lots of times in the past but never to The Mooring. we were just walking by and figure we would grab a drink and take a look...Everything from the friendly Hostess, to the perfect Manhattans at the Bar were spot on. Very cool decor/lighting and dim interior just like we prefer. We liked it so much we... More

My husband and I are in Newport for our 2 year anniversary. We took a recommendation from a friend to dine here and chose it for our special dinner. It didn't disappoint! Obviously being the off season it is quiet, but this restaurant was still fairly packed despite it being early March. The food was superb. The service outstanding. We... More
