Food and atmosphere were great. Scallop chowder was over the top. Sole francaise was delicious. Staff was well informed and extremely pleasant.

We ate here on a Thursday night and it was not nearly the "business casual" attire that was recommended. People were pretty casual which made sense considering we were eating outdoors. Our food was pretty good but not great. However the service was excellent as was the overall atmosphere. It's a place that is good enough to go back.

Because The Moorings is simply one of the best places to eat seafood it is always fully booked. We inquired one morning and were told 10.30 pm was the first availability. However, they take pity on people who just turn up - get your name on the list and they'll try to find you a table. Yesterday when we turned... More

I take that back. The location and view are excellent but the food is nothing to write home about. The atmosphere was good and the service was also good, but, a bit rushed. The sliders were tasty and came two for $14. I would not order them again. Shrimp and crab po' boy was also tasty but not great. Crispy... More

What a fun experience. Reservations were made a few months out and I asked if they could accommodate my request for a table on the water. They did say they would try. We got to the restaurant a little early and were told our table was not ready but we could have a drink at the bar. We were lucky... More

Owned by the same people that run 22 Bowens you can dine on the wharf overlooking the beautiful boats and order a less involved dinner then 22 but equally as worthy of your dining pleasure

Great new menu---well known dishes with a flair. They will cook what you want if not on the menu. GREAT atmosphere on the patio rain or shine. I make an annual trip through Newport and this has been the restaurant of choice for over 20 years

Such a great spot, and so worth it! We didn't have reservations on a Friday night, but we called ahead and they put us on the waiting list. It was supposed to be an hour wait, and the TEXTED us when our table was ready 25 minutes later. Fantastic service, food was amazing, great date night!

You need reservations, and i can see why. The food is good, service great, and a nice selection of drinks. Had the stuffed lobster as an entree, and a tuna tartar as a starter. Both were very good.
