We came upon this cozy Italian restaurant by chance one day and now it is one of our favored “go to” places for lunch or dinner in Newport, Rhode Island. My personal favorite is their Spaghetti alla Carbonara, a rich blend of eggs, cream and Parmesan cheese laced with a generous helping of Italian bacon bits and seasoned with just... More

if you like heavier Italian food, this is the place. lots of great pasta and also an assortment of pizzas. It is a little small but a cozy restaurant. Our waiter was attentive and fun.

Lucia's has an excellent menu, including several wonderful vegetarian options. It is clear that the food is prepared to order, the kitchen is partly visible showing a focused, clean, and talented chef and staff. The seitan entrees were really unique and delicious. The menu includes a nice range of options, all the diners seemed very pleased the night we were... More

I came here last week with a few friends for dinner. The place was packed (which is always a good sign), but we managed to get a table without a long wait. The food was delicious and service was good. There were even gluten free options. I will definitely come back here next time I visit Newport.

Stopped by for a special belated birthday meal as we had heard good reviews. Our waiter appeared impatient, would not look us in the eye, and overall exuded negativity. I tried desperately to overlook this and not let it get me down, but when he was in the middle of the specials (which we had to ask him about) and... More

This is a small restaurant hidden away on the second level of the main touristy thorough fare. There were many locals eating here. I had the veal scalloppini and I'm prepared to go back to Newport just to have another veal dinner. Since I found the food at other establishments expensive, lacking in taste, and in one case spoiled it... More

The restaurant is not at street level, it is upstairs on the main street, Thames Street, in the heart of tourist shopping since 1993. There are actually two small dining rooms, separate, making the dining cozy and private but the restaurant quickly filled with people so one never feels an empty silence. We sat at the table in the window,... More

With a great selection of pasta and pizza Lucia was a nice place to eat out while on a recent business trip. The prices are reasonable and the food was great. The service left a little to be desired but perhaps we just got the wrong person at the wrong time.

Being Italian and used to authentic homemade 'Italian,' I was pleasantly surprised when our friends took us to diner at Lucia's. Everything we had from appetizers to dessert was exceptional. Because we were so pleased we planned a wine dinner there. We provided a sample menu of what we had for previous wine dinners and Lucia's created a menu that... More
