My now husband and I had our rehearsal dinner at the Chanler, catered by the Spiced Pear. Haley did a wonderful job of organizing our group of 60. You cannot go wrong with the views at the Chanler. The service, and the food was incredible.

We had a fabulous time celebrating a birthday and 5 years apart as 4 of us gathered from 4 different states. Pre-dinner drinks on the patio with the best weather one could hope for with a full moon, followed by dinner. We were given a table with an amazing view, excellent and attentive service, extras from the Chef (amuse-bouche), awesome... More

My wife and ate here July 1st. We stayed at the Cliffside Inn and walked along Cliff Walk to get here, which is about a 10 minute delightful walk. The Spiced Pear is located at the Chanler Cliff Walk, which is an elegant hotel with stunning views of Easton Bay. Our dinner was delicious and the service was most professional... More

Ok, I'm basing this review on my 1 dinner we had there 4 years ago in the "fancy" side of the restaurant. I will start out by saying I live local on the island and I took my 6 month pregnant wife there for a special dinner. When she ordered 1 glass of red wine (allowed by her doctor), they... More

Ambience was very nice. Service not as attentive as it should have been, good, but not above average. Food very good, dessert had too much going on.

We had some folks from our corporate office come to RI and all they asked for was to catch a bite to eat and see the ocean. The Spiced Pear far exceeded their expectations and my own! The views from the restaurant are absolutely breath-taking and I've lived in the ocean state my whole life. I ordered the clam boil... More

Simple answer. Both. Special restaurant in special location. On my recent visit, I had a Lobster BLT. Decadent? Yes. Magnificent? Yes. Bacon. lobster, tomato on a wonderful roll. Over the top enjoyment. The fish tacos are supreme, and the GQ burger is good enough for a GQ endorsement. Don't miss this restaurant.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the Terrace dining at the Spiced Pear...much more casual than the upscale restaurant inside, but with the same kitchen supporting both the food was incredible without the stuffiness of formal dining and with a spectacular view of Easton Beach. The highlight of the meal was the carrot cake and the panna cotta (I honestly... More

We enjoyed lunch, even on a rainy day, at this historic location. The food and service were outstanding, the wine list ample and the view overlooking Newport's Cliff Walk was spectacular.

The grounds of the Inn is absolutely amazing. Beautifully landscaped with a backdrop to die for. We were not hotel guests, however, chose the restaurant as a Breakfast option. The prices are little high for breakfast, but our meals were well worth it and delicious. The wait staff were attentive and professional.
