Lunch on a sunny Saturday at the bar... Lobster corn fritters and the scallop appetizer were delicious. 'Possibly the best carrot cake ever because it was lighter and moister than most, served with a fluffy frosting and toasted carrot shavings on top, cinnamon ice cream on the side; it would send the Easter Bunny to Heaven! My wife and I dined at 22 Bowen's during our trip to Newport. The food was very good. We ordered off the Pre Fixe menu, but only because of the entree we wanted to try. My wife started with the Beef Carpaccio, and I had the clam chowder. Both were outstanding. We both had the Shrimp and Grits for dinner.... More

On a recent weekend, we decided to spend a night in Newport. It turned out to be Restaurant Week, so places were crowded and we anticipated less than stellar food and service. We were pleasantly surprised at 22 Bowen with very good service and an excellent dinner - especially the petit filet, which we both enjoyed with a sauce Bearnaise.

Had dinner here for Restaurant Week. Nice three course selections. I had a goat cheese and mushroom crostada to start, filet mignon and finished with an olive oil cake for dessert. The boyfriend had arugula salad, lamb and chocolate torte for dessert. Everything was delicious - the olive oil cake was a little dry but I suspect that is the... More

The restaurant was nice but we were disappointed with the temp of the food. I had the homemade pasta that was served to me only warm and wasn't all that tasty. I regretted not asking for it to be reheated because I took much of it home and found it wonderfully flavorful when it was hot. After we finished, my... More

Recently had lunch at this establishment. My hopes were very high, but I thought the food was good, not amazing. The server was not the friendliest and overall it was just an average experience.

WOW....Party of 12 for a 50th Birthday and could not have been better. We began planning about a month out, targeting Saturday night 3/29/14 at 8p for the celebration. GM Kimberly Wells was tremendous working with our group, getting us an upstairs table overlooking the harbor. She also met my wife and me as we went to 22 Bowens earlier... More
