view is awesome. you get to sit right on the water as you eat. lobster meat was very fresh. both the cold and hot rolls were delicious.
On a visit to Newport, RI, my wife and I wanted to sample authentic local seafood. We happened upon the Lobster Bar. It is a combination restaurant and working wharf where freshly caught lobsters are kept in huge tanks. While diners are waiting for a table, they can watch the lobsters which are sorted into varied sizes, including huge 4+... More
Both our hot and cold lobster rolls were excellent, this place has character and the view out over the harbor is amazing. We ate here two years ago and were just as pleased as we were this time around
We went here for their lobster rolls and their hot and cold rolls were excellent. They give you a bag of chips and a pickle with the sandwich for about $20 each. I'll be sure to visit this place the next time I come back to Newport. We went in August and the view on the deck was beautiful.
after an incredible lobster roll in boston yesterday we were hoping for another great one today in newport....boy...we picked the wrong place...the lobster roll had only a little claw meat in a bun that was tasteless.very slow service but at least the miller lite was good and cold ....
Went there to grab lunch a beer.... Well I had a lobster salad, friend had sandwich, 2 beers each... $80 tab. I guess you're paying to sit on the water and it's newport, but for $80 bucks at lunch time. I should have just a bought a six pack, grabbed a lobster roll on the way, and sat on the... More
My husband & I both had the lobster rolls. He had the hot roll, I had the cold roll. They were both simple & tasty, meat was perfect. We liked that it was right on the water, although we could not eat outside, it was still a great atmosphere. The front of the bar is the lobster cleaning (I assume),... More
The lobster roll was filled with huge chunks of lobster and not a lot of mayo. The price was very reasonable as well.
We just wanted a bowl of soup for a light dinner. We stopped in at the Lobster Bar and ordered the Lobster Bisque with extra lobster to go. The soup was everything you could ask for in a Lobster Bisque.
Like most other restaurants in Newport this one was not exactly a bargain, but the food was excellent, very fresh and the location was great. Our table was almost literally right on the water. Service was a little slow, but our server was very pleasant (though overworked) and the setting was gorgeous so who cared!
