4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2014 NEW

5th Element is high up on my list of places to eat in Newport! The ambiance is great with lots of quirky touches and the place offers options for diners - the more cosy, romantic dining room or the bar area with all the games playing and a pretty impressive bar! The staff are cool, the food is great whether... More

The Fifth Element is a great place to go for dinner or drinks. Cool atmosphere and the staff is friendly. They make awesome specialty drinks and food is always great. I suggest the burger and the pizzas are so good especially if you like thin crust. They typically have live music and can be a great spot for last call... More

The Fifth is by far the best place in Newport to have a wood-fired pizza, They are constantly creative, have wonderful ingredients and the staff is top-notch! The ownership are guys that worked their way up and have a passion for good food, drinks, fun and music. If you are coming to Newport and want to get away from the... More

The Fifth Element has it all. You can go there for a quiet dinner date in the dining room and enjoy the cozy atmosphere and (my personal favorite) the bistro filet and there signature grape martini or come with a few buddies and grab a pizza and a few beers at the bar to watch the game. I have been... More

On this trip to Newport we wanted to get away from Thames Street and the crowds, and experience something with a more local vibe. This fit the bill nicely. Open and airy pub atmosphere and creative menu. We were a little disappointed in the size of the appetizer salad ($10 for a handful of field greens, and a tiny piece... More

Lack of staff. Took forever to take order and to eventually get the food. Not apologetic. Go to Salvation across the street.

Poor service - 45 minutes to get a salad. A weeknight when they weren't overly busy. Fish tacos skimpy and cold. We had a reservation - however, larger parties that night seemed to get the better service. Maybe just an off night but not a place to which I would return. Two hours for having a light dinner seems a... More

We had the after party for our wedding at Fifth Element. Ownership and staff were extremely accommodating, the food was fantastic and the band that they had booked for Friday night was awesome. It was the perfect ending to our wedding day. Everyone that attended kept raving about the after party for days.

We visited the Fifth Element on a busy Saturday night during the jazz festival. We were lucky we had made reservations because they were busy. The service was warm and welcoming and the atmosphere was attractive. The food was the star. We loved the mussels and the house salad. Dick had an excellent fillet, which was cooked exactly as he... We had my daughters bridal shower at The Fifth Element. We couldn't be happier with the choice. The owners, Frank and Brad, did a fabulous job to make this a very special event. The sangria was perfect for a beautiful summer evening. The food, from the bruschetta to the fabulous pizza (which everyone loved!) was delicious. The ambience of the... More
