If you are in Newport the Fifth Element is a good choice. The menu is limited but many good choices. The Epanadas or Spinach Ball are a delicious choice.

3.5 stars if I could. A group of 12 of us went to Fifth Element to celebrate my 30th birthday. Some things about this restaurant were amazing and others were terrible. My friends that ordered the steak gave rave reviews and loved their meals. Everyone also loved the Cacio e Pepe (it's in a cheese and not butter sauce). Unfortunately... More

Who would take his wife to a retro tavern for their 40th anniversary??????? I WOULD It was great. Menu, bar, service, high top table, mussels, F O soup. ALL GOOD. It was Monday night, we walked past the same place Tuesday and there was live jazz. We have to go back!!!!! but it's a long drive from Tacoma, WA.

Just held a rehearsal 'dinner' at Fifth Element and it was the perfect choice for a fun yet more casual affair. We had a group of about 35 in a reserved part of the bar area set up with high and low tables. It was great for mingling, eating and drinking and felt like we had the place to ourselves!... More

We held my son's rehearsal dinner at the Fifth Element and it couldn't have been better. The staff were gracious and helpful without being intrusive and the food was excellent! We were able to choose the band for the live music portion of the evening - another success. I would highly recommend the Fifth Element for your next dinner -... More

Dined there twice during a recent stay in Newport. Both the food and service were very good. Had the kibbeh appetizer, lemony polenta, the shoulder filet and pizza. All, with the exception of the polenta which I thought bland, were excellent. One night there was live music. I'm usually not a fan because too often it's too loud to be... More

Had a very uncomfortable dining experience on Labor Day around 6:00 pm. We were told all the normal tables were reserved and our party of five was forced to sit adjacent to the bar at a high table with the sun in our eyes...as the regular tables sat vacant all the time we were there. The chairs/stools were so uncomfortable,... More

This is not in the main tourist strip, but well worth the short walk and local vibe. Food was excellent - shrimp tacos, salmon, chicken breast, orechetti pasta. Service was also mostly excellent - friendly and attentive. Although, when the waitress came to clear our table, she asked if we were done, and then after clearing the plates she returned... More

Based on reviews, we reserved an 11:00 table for Sunday brunch. As we were the first ones there, reservations really were not necessary. The crowd began picking up around 11:30 and a jazz band started setting up around noon. We unfortunately could not stay for the music. There was an odor in the building when I first walked in and...
