We arrived by car, saw the sign saying "Valet Parking $10" but saw no valet, so pulled into a spot (lot was almost empty).. A young man ran out saying that would cost us $10 - no welcome, no asking if we were guests. He took my keys. Upon entering the restaurant, which looks quite nice, elegant, upscale, there was... Breakfast was so good. I'm gluten free and they even had gluten free bread for toast. Orange juice was freshly squeezed and so good. Eggs were cooked perfectly and everything tasted so fresh. One night during our stay we ordered an apple crisp and it was delivered within minutes of ordering. It was decomposed so everything was on the plate... More

My husband and I were staying in Newport over Christmas and decided to try this place for brunch. It was great! The views of the water were wonderful and the service and food were great. I ordered brioche French toast and it was to die for! Service was pleasant and attentive and the atmosphere was low key. It will be... More

We were there in mid-November, and at two late lunches mid-week, we were the only customers. When we came back at night, it didn't seem as if anyone was eating there, and there was only one person at the bar. The prices seemed fair, and the food was good.

We are locals who went here for restaurant week. The regular menu is pretty unimaginative but the restaurant week menu was more intriguing. We were a party of 4 but it took 10 minutes for us to realize that the other couple had been seated separately; the restaurant is dark. The view over the harbor here is beautiful- but we... More

Our waitstaff could not have been less attentive. Attention to detail did not exist, right down to dirty plate. Food was good, but because of the poor staff I did not enjoy. I would not recommend or go back. There are many other good choices near by.

Following a wonderful boat tour of the Harbor our group of 24 had dinner at the Grill at Forty 1 North on the water. We began with an open bar with an excellent variety of snacks then moved to the restaurant where we were served a three course dinner. I selected the Scallops and my wife the Shrimp. The service... The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice and romantic. The view from the water is great. We were offered a table that felt like a cafeteria because we were 6 inches from the next person. We asked for a new table and were given a more secluded table. The filet mignon was cold and bernaise sauce tasteless. The mashed... More

We went to Newport for lunch and thought we might try Christie's, which we have enjoyed before, but we came upon The Grill instead and thought we might give it a try. From the moment we went inside, my mother is bothered by feeling cold, so we decided to eat inside, we were kind of ignored, then when our server... More

Dinner overlooking the water. We had swordfish, which was excellent, and octopus, which was also excellent. Great service. Expensive, but nice for a special date night.
