The pastries are out of this world.

Excellent, very small place. Hardly room to sit. Better to take out. Great sandwiches and Pastries are amazing. Will stop by every time I am in that area.

I live in Newport and always enjoy going to Rosemary and Thyme for the Pear and Brie Sandwich. The atmosphere is great. The food is fantastic but the access to the café is difficult as there is very little on-street parking, and the restaurant is very popular. We generally pop over on our scooters.

I absolutely love their sandwiches and coffee. I'm a pretty tall dude, so when I go into cafes I usually value high ceilings and spaciousness, but the close quarters of the cafe actually made it feel very cozy. There were a lot of locals, and it showed. People waltzed into the store throughout the whole day, greeting the cashier and... More

I had the pleasure of meeting owner Matthew while filming (acting) in his charming cafe last week. He is so kind and generous to offer his gem for a student film location. Matthew made sure we knew where to park (after yet another blizzard!). As much as I would like to meet Matthew again, it is the interior of Rosemary... More

I had a truly wonderful experience here. The owners are lovely, welcoming people - so kind and gracious, and always looking out for customers. Excellent service, excellent food. Would go back in a heartbeat. Keep up the good work!

I have stopped in here for lunch several times, and this cafe is not only charming and quaint with a European vibe, fresh pastries at the counter and friendly attendants, but is less touristy than most of the cafes in Newport! I would especially recommend the chicken salad wrap - it is worth coming back for!

After reading all the great reviews about this restaurant, my friend and I decided to stop by for our little getaway in Newport. We drove there directly from New Jersey, after 3 hours drive, we were excited, when we got there around 1230pm, the door was closed but we heard voices inside so we knocked on the door, a rude... This customer visited our Cafe while we were closed for Winter vacation. Unfortunately she arrived on a day that students form R.I. School of Design were using our Cafe for a student film. I have written to the reviewer to explain the situation. I have not yet recived a reply, but I have invited her back when we reopen for... More

We needed something relatively quick to eat and found excellent reviews for Rosemary and Thyme, but it had me thinking "how good can a sandwich really be?" Now I have my answer! The folks here take the humble sandwich to an entirely different level. I don't know if it's the homemade bread or the fresh herbs or what but this... More

This little gem is not to be missed! We rolled into town later in the afternoon and needed a quick bite before we continued. Stumbled upon Rosemary & Thyme in the nick of time. They were getting ready to close shortly but we were able to get a sandwich and a salad. The tables were full but one opened up... More

My wife and I got a couple of sandwiches here. They were delicious, even the next day when I finally made it around to eating mine! Tiny shop, but worth a visit for a lunch in downtown Newport!
