While I was on vacation with my husband at Newport. We decided to visit Kilwins it was fantastic. Best waffles I've had.

Always visit after a great meal at Benjamin's. Great, fresh candies of all types. The candied apples and the old fashioned honeycombs are the best.

Wherever you eat save some room for Kilwin's. My wife got a "bear claw" - a giant caramel nougat clustered with cashews and chocolate….to die for!

Yummy ice cream and good service. My husband had chocolate Rice Krispies treat and loved it. Give this place a try.

Location: Literally located in the center of Newport across the street from the wharf. On the cobblestone walk side. Atmosphere: This is a chocolate and ice cream shop. Very clean. Price: It's not cheap but it is worth it. The quality of chocolate is exceptional. I would put it against the best chocolates like Bridgewater Chocolates in Bridgewater, CT. Service:... More

After a miserably expensive dinner across the way, this shop was just the pick me up needed to begin forgetting about a bad and focus on a good. Tried a few different flavors of ice cream and stuck with a simple and good peach ice cream or was it blueberry? I can't remember the exact flavor but I do remember... More

We were very excited to see a Kilwins in Newport. We haven't had their ice cream since we were in Florida several years back. So glad we were able to find one. The milkshakes are the best. Strawberry ice cream tastes like fresh strawberries. Its perfect!

Kilwins is a great taste experience when you want to indulge in a chocolate or icecream treat. It is popular amoung tourists because of its location. It is clean with very pretty and appealing packaging, but as a local, I feel it's very over priced for visitors ! Many other shops in the area also offer fun chocolate treats that... More

The ice cream is good, but I preferred the gelato down and across the street. I had lemon and expected something more fresh tasting with maybe some tiny pieces of peel. The line was long, and it was just okay. The smell of waffle cones, however, made it worth standing there.

I make it a point to stop at Kilwin's every time I am in Newport, RI, as the Nutcracker Sweet caramel corn (with pecans and almonds) is OUTSTANDING!!! The best caramel corn EVER. It is quite expensive ($18.95 for a bag), but I just found out that if you buy 2 you get 1 free...not sure if that was a... More
