Great eats in downtown Newport!

Diego's is located conveniently in the center of downtown. Though easy access for the tourists, don't let that stop you! Highly recommended by friends for the menu and the drinks, my wife and I stopped in on a Tuesday late in June. Outdoor seating was great this time of year, and the ambiance... read more

My wife and I always try to go there every time we visit newport. Their food is fresh, clean and just looks great...never mind taste great. We don't always bring our dog, but we were pleasantly surprised how welcoming the staff was when we arrived looking for food.

We decided on Diego's for brunch. We waited for 20 minutes, but well worth the wait. Unlike my husband, I don't enjoy breakfast foods. He ordered steak and eggs, and I ordered steak nachos. Theses are one of the best steak nachos I have had. Too much for one person, but they were so good my husband picked on them... More

We were told by so many people to come here - so this past Saturday night we tried it. I hate to say anything negative but truly our food was bland and the service was poor at best. We are easy going patrons with a lot of patience, but this server needs additional training.

Loved the selection and variety of small plates and entrees - the duck empanadas were delicious! Felt that some dishes were more flavorful than others. Great location in the midst of all the shops and restaurants on the harbor.

It may seem strange to crave Mexican food amongst all of the seafood restaurants in Newport, but we walked by and had to try. We had a late lunch (it was still packed) and LOVED everything including the pitcher of Sangria! Fresh, generous portions and plenty of choices. You have to try this yummy restaurant!

My husband and I stopped here after a cruise and after checking some of the menus of the other surrounding restaurants which were very expensive, we decided to give Diegos a try. The prices were very reasonable and we sat at a table on the outer edge of the restaurant so we didn't feel crowded. The guacamole was very fresh... More

Usually I don't like that type of restaurants in the most touristic area of a city but if you go to Diego's you will make no mistake! Nice service, meals are original and absolutly great!

We always have an amazing time at Diego's. The food is amazing, the service is excellent, and the drinks are good. We like the vibe and the atmosphere. TIP: Get there early if you have a large party!! On busy evenings (mostly friday and saturday night) if you are in a large party you could wait up to a couple... More

Had a fantastic meal here over the weekend. We had a large group (15) and knew it was not a very large place, so a couple went over to put our name in, and we were told 1.5-2 hours, which was fine for us. It was WELL worth the wait. The fish tacos were FABULOUS, just about the best I'd... More
