Quick Visit to Newport

On our last day we had to stop for breakfast before we left so we stopped here because it was recommended by everyone we asked!! Very popular place, interesting atmosphere and waiter was very professional. You better like a Mexican flair which is not my thing but my wife enjoyed her Duck hash... read more

My lady and I were walking around and was looking for a place for brunch. Betsy saw Diegos. We looked at the menu and a number of dishes caught our eyes, so we went in. There was about a 20 minute wait but well worth it. I had the duck hash with 2 eggs sunny side up. It was absolutely... More

Not a fan o of Mexican food (except my 4 times in Mexico) but went there for my husband who loves it.... Food AWFUL by both our standards...had fun early at bar (4:30) which was rocking obviously everybody had a drink and moved on to their dinner destination. Owner was there watching out for everything....bartenders ok but not relaxed...so, great... More

Their world famous fish taco was the worst ever, lucky if their was 2 tablespoons of fish burried at the bottom of 3 soft taco's. Then there was the blaring music, some dumb mismash of stuff I never heard of. Guess if your too drunk to taste and enjoy your meal you'd say it was alright.

We were at Diego's during the winter break and had a great time. We had a long wait for dinner as the place was packed. The margaritas were very good and spicy. I had ordered the Mango-jalepeno margarita. The chips-salsa and calamari was very good, though guacamole was ok. Kids loved their burritos and my wife ordered the spicy catch... More

The restaurant was small and loud but cozy and fun atmosphere. The food was very tasty and spicy. The variety on menu was not so big but I found many things I liked. I had a glass of spiced sangria which was quite good. my daughter throughly enjoyed her kids steak taco. I am sure it is even better in... More

If you're in Newport and looking for something different than clam chowder and seafood, stop by Diego's for fresh Mex. We loved the fish tacos. You can order them with cod or tuna. We tried both. They were delicious. The chips and salsa are not free (like most Mexican places) but worth ordering. You'll sample 4 unique salsas- so everyone... More

This is a very small restaurant. So if your not in a hurry the food is worth the wait. The Diego's fish tacos with jicama pineapple salsa were amazing. The Cali burrito with pulled pork and French fries & beans was very good.
