Horrible Bar Service

I've never done a poor trip advisor review until now. I can usually justify that maybe it was an "off" day. The two bartenders acted put out that there were 2 more people at the bar (in addition to the 3 already there). We waited about 5 minutes before we were even acknowledged or asked about a... read more

The restaurant is small, intimate and friendly. The food is very good, its all comfort food, its not for the salad eaters out there, they do have healthy items, but as good as the food is, you'll want the rich, delicious comfort foods. Its a fun place and a great location

We enjoyed the intimacy and ambience of this little bar. It's a bit loud but that's to be expected. The ONLY drawback is that the restroom is outside the plastic area, across the courtyard. A key is required. The food was excellent, we ordered pork tacos. The chips were ok. We will go again.

It was great mexican food and I was excited to see they had quesadila that had lobster. I ordered it but he waitress came back to tell me they discontinued the lobster for the winter. I was disappointed because I thought that would have been very unique. Instead I ordered blackend shrimp and was very happy. The guacamole was a... More

We just visited Diego's in Newport on a recommendation from out hotel. This place is small and cozy and even though we visited in November and we were sitting on a patio area with plastic draped all around, we were perfectly warm and cozy. Tables were patio style and a bit small and round but sufficient. All three of us... More

I spend the Summer here and I LOVED eating at Diego’s. I am originally from California and love my Mexican food. This place is GREAT. The food is wonderful and atmosphere is excellent and fun! Great drinks, and good food! It’s a MUST in Newport!

Last minute planning brought us here - a relative who lives in Newport brought us and we enjoyed it immensely. Maybe it was because we were so hungry! The waitress was very responsive and cheery and the cost is very reasonable. One thing I would change - the chairs are flimsy black metal and for one with back problems, very... More

We saw Diego's on trip advisor and headed in for a cocktail (with plans to move on for dinner later) just after arriving in Newport. We never left... Sat at the bar and tried several of the craft cocktails, the bartenders are fun, friendly and full of local tips! The nachos were fabulous. We'll be back!

A perfect return visit: Great tasting margarita's (with actual tequila in them, vs. the competition). Fish tacos and pulled pork burrito were big hits, as usual. Fresh ingredients, very good service. A model for other Mexican eateries.

My husband and I wanted something other than seafood when we visited Newport, RI. This restaurant hit the mark. Mexican food with a delightful modern twist. I ordered the chicken tacos and my husband had the burrito. We found both dishes to be tasty and liked the fact that they added pineapple to the toppings!
