My husband, who is a proud "Mexican food snob" is in love with this place - which basically says it all. It's got a cool, laid back vibe inside and the servers were great. We stopped in twice while on vacation in Newport for a quick bite. Guac was incredibly fresh, as was the salsa. We also tried the pork... More

Surprisingly, this ended up being the best meal we had during a four day stay in Newport. The food is fresh and well seasoned. We had the blood orange margaritas, the fresh guacamole and salas and the rangoons as an appetizer. I'm a vegetarian so I loved that I had the option of tofu in my quesadilla which was really... We shared several small plates and loved every bite (duck empanadas, pork spring rolls, mushroom/goat cheese quesadilla, tuna tostada)! The guacamole was fantastic too! When planning our trip, I had no idea we would end up eating Mexican food in Newport, RI but we did on a friend's recommendation and I'm glad we didn't pass up this gem! Diego's has... More

To be honest we are not well versed in Mexican food. As such we wouldn't know a tacos from a burrito! So we tried both - a tacos de pollo and a perfect burrito. Both were absolutely delicious! As others have noted it is not the most comfortable restaurant with metal chairs and tables, and the music is very loud,... More

After hearing great reviews of Diego's from people I know, some friends & I went to dinner there. The menu was full of delicious sounding options so it was hard to decide! Eventually myself & another woman ordered the gluten free phish tacos, and the other people in my party ordered the chicken quesadilla & the 5th ward salad with... More

Had dinner there on Thursday night. There were a lot of empty seats yet it took a long time to be seated despite the hostess saying she would be right with us. We were seated in what looked outdoor seating that was turning into indoor seating, (Tent with plastic sides) round wrought iron bistro table that was very small. The... More
