We Loved the Chef's Tasting Menu!

OMG, I wish the chef were local for me in SF....the food was amazing, the ambiance intimate, and the staff incredibly attentive and friendly. We enjoyed the creative specials and the imaginative desserts. This is a fantastic stand out from Newport's chowda scene. We'll come back just to eat here again next year!

Care for detail leads to an interesting journey. Try the tasting menu with wine pairings. We had a great evening.

This was our BEST dining experience in Newport! Sunday brunch (served until 2pm) was off the hook. Two amuse bouches were served, and were out of this world. They played 90's hip hop and I was completely in my "happy place." The staff is funky, artistic, and truly gifted in the culinary arts. Best mimosas I have EVER HAD IN... More

We had the 4-course prix fixe with wine pairing. Truly one of the finest meals we've ever had. The favors are so complex! Our waitress was wonderful, and the wine pairings were excellent. It's a bit of a splurge price-wise, but so completely worth it!

Food was really good. Definitely worth it. Flavors were super unique. The only issue for us was we brought our own beers, from the package store next door - twist off caps & still got charged the corking fee for 2. Should have expected it but it's like that little annoying thing.

Dishes are complex but flavors always work! We have made this our splurge dinner ashore on several sailing vacations and Tallulahs never disappoints! Wine pairings were perfect complements to the food. Favorites were the fried green tomatoes and the charred broccolli (and I don't like broccoli!)

Burnt grilled broccoli appetizer; inedibly tough and tasteless octopus (reviewer is a frequent eater of octopus); overall, we got scant food for too many dollars.

For a true gourmand experience, look no further than Tallulah on Thames. Combining a casual and charming atmosphere with excellent dining and friendly service, Tallulah is a standout in the Newport dining scene. Reservations required.

Fresh seasonal food, expertly prepared, but prices are astronomical and portions are TINY. Wines by bottle start at $50. For the price I'd rather eat at elegant Bouchard or Inn at Castle hill, not a lower Thames Street fixer-upper with no parking. Pretentious and over-rated.
