We have been here twice and had a great experience each time. Great food and delicious drinks. Usualy by the end of the evening, the owner's mother "mama" was out on the patio with her arm around many of the guests. We were just in newport and went back to have a meal at this yummy place and we couldnt'... More

This bar is small, but its got a bit of character. There's an outside area as well, which is nice if you want to eat/drink outside. I tried a few of the appetizers, which were decent, but the portions were small. Drinks were good though. It's worth a stop in for a quick drink, but head somewhere else if you... More

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a great local hangout. Sambar was perfect! I was actually very shocked to see these reviews because the service and staff were nothing but helpful. Sambar was fun and the people were welcoming I would recommend this spot to anyone, young or old.

Just awful!!! Younger men and women too, literally attacked and beat-up a mature group of adults over nothing! And someone was seriously hurt! And the place did nothing to stop it or help! stay away from this place unless you are looking for an unprovoked fight

St. Patrick's Day...having a beer, enjoying the game next thing being attacked by young guys and girls. Sent 2 to the hospital. No one that worked there would help. What has happened to this town? Don't go here unless you have a body guard or 5.

The menu was appealing. I only received half of what i ordered though... the bartender wasn't very bright. What I did get tasted good though.

A place of paradoxes: ambience not immediately relaxing, but once you're seated at one of the window loveseats you're immediately relaxed. Food is Brazilian-inspired, but doesn't feel authentically Brazilian--seems like Brazilian-inspired American. Fortunately not very busy when we came. The layout is a little different: an empty central space with tables arranged around the walls. Food was good, very good... More

The most miserable food I've ever eaten! First we both ordered the onion soup...Delish if you enjoy drinking dirty dish water with tons of rosemary! Dinner was tapas, with dry chewy chicken, the most heinous bruschetta EVER!!!!! My husband got a buff chic pizza (his fave) and had one slice and couldn't shove another one down his throat!! Never goin... More

The visit started with an off balance table and water spilled on my daughter by the overworked waiter. The portions were small and disappointing for the price. To my surprise, no discount was given for the spilling of the water on my daughter's lap. Will never go there again as a result.

I went with three friends on a Friday night. We arrived at 6:30, and the large table next to us had apparently been waiting for a very long time for their food, even though the restaurant was mostly empty. We were also informed that they were out of their "smash potatoes," which is a side that is featured with a... More
