We always enjoy Shango. An almost storefront restaurant who's food has a New Orleans influence. Nice vibe with wooden floors and lots of light...there is a garage door that can be opened and a small street side patio. We ate inside on a humid night. Service was friendly and competent, if not exactly polished. Extensive well researched wine list, reasonably... More

Food was decent but what got me was the service. Our waitress seemed very uninterested, almost like we were a problem. 3/4 ordered salads and I had the salmon so maybe we didn't spend enough to make her smile just a little...maybe she was having a bad day. I am from Louisiana so the food did not really meet my... More

Enjoyed sitting in a nice high backed booth that afforded some privacy and easy conversation. The menu is reminiscent of New Orleans and offers a good selection at reasonable prices. The only drawback is they are unable to obtain a liquor license so only beer and wine are served. Nice place, highly recommend

I love Shango for every meal of the day. I've been there for dinner several times. I am always impressed. Their brunch menu is equally brilliant. The chef is an absolute genius. For dinner, I absolutely loved the chorizo mac n cheese, served in a skillet. It takes an interesting Cajun twist on my favorite meal. Although the chorizo and... More

We had been to Shango's a few times in the past, and always enjoyed our dinners. They do a Cajun, New Orleans type of fare. This time, three of the four of us experienced lousy meals. My husband had the rib eye which was that nights special, it was grizzly and fatty. He took the left overs home in a... More

We went to Shango during Buffalo's restaurant week. We chose it because it offered three courses of unique New Orleans style food. I have to start with the logistics of getting into the restaurant. With all of the snow on the city streets parking was difficult but what really bothered me was that the sidewalk leading up the the restaurant... More

This is the second visit to Shango and definitely exceeded expectations. We were a group of eight and our server was outstanding. She was very friendly and attentive. All meals were raved about. Entrees among the group included the Creole Meatloaf, Gnocchi, Braised Veal, Fried Chicken, Steak PO boy and other specials not listed on the website. The goat cheese... More

I am a lover of Cajun cuisine, so when I found that there is a restaurant in Buffalo offering that, I said "sign me up". I went with my wife for a Sunday brunch. The restaurant was relatively crowded given that it was a Sunday. It kinda sucks a little that Shango is only open for brunch, but I can't... More
