Blue Monk was within easy walking distance of our B&B. We went there during the Netherlands-Argentina World Cup soccer match and the bar was packed! We got a table quickly and had a good waiter. He recommended a terrific IPA. The food was better than expected for a brew pub. I would definitely go back!

Arrived at opening 11:30, we were the first customers, so no problem scoring a patio table. By the time we left, inside (mostly) and outside were full...I believe there was a table or two waiting. Unlike our last visit, no alcohol served until noon. We pre - ordered our bacon bloody marys ($7.50) and they were served by our friendly... More

Fabulous beer list (over 140 choices)!! Great outdoor seating in the heart of the Elmwood Village. Very few tables indoors for winter. The Belgian menu is a little limited/different for my taste, but I like that they're sticking with the theme.

It was recommended by a very Mid Twenties - beautiful person who worked at the hotel. Food was unusual but all very tasty and present in an interesting fashion. Outdoor and Indoor dining was available. It is in a lovely part of town only about 5 - 10 minutes from the hotel. If your 65 Plus you might want to try... More

Really, too many unusual beer choices, but once you get seated, the food is different and tasty. Beer prices aren't cheap, but food prices are reasonable. Nice atmosphere.

Passing through town and decided to stop given the good reviews and the beer menu. Snagged an outside table on a beautiful Friday evening. The menu had so many good choices it was hard to decide what to order. The French onion soup was very good as was the Thelonious burger which was done perfectly, medium rare. The duck fat... More

Went for drinks and dinner Friday - 1st beer was warm - sent it back - second beer was skunk. Opted out for dinner after that which was disappointing because I've heard nice things about the place. BUT, to get two consecutive beers that sucked from a beer venue caused me to forgo any further disappointment. Went across the street... More

Went to Blue Monk for lunch after a Buffalo Philharmonic concert. Not a fancy place, but great food, a rather eclectic menu with LOTS of brews to choose from! Attentive waiter and pretty prompt service considering it was lunch hour. Have heard the dinners are great, too!

Easily one if the best beer bars I've been to. Wait staff was friendly and the beer selection had a good mix with some surprisingly rare beers - even coming from the west coast. But the food...damn that was good. Duck Confit Poutine were the best fries dish period. And the mussles (Hennepin version) were bold, bright, and had a... More
