Poutine + Craft Beer = Heaven

Poutine with duck, and so many beers! I could live here. Of course, there are many other food items to choose from too, like the mussels (several styles) and the mac and cheese. Any visit to the Elmwood area should include a stop here!

Went with a friends for a night out. Got a few beers, good choices from around the globe. The prices are slightly higher but the options are good. Didn't try any food so can't comment on that. The crowd there is also good.

Very nice "brown" pub. Sit at the bar area or outside, the back is not fun. Very good beer selection although very few Belgian beers. The fries were ok but not a single Belgian would ever prepare them this way, the German meatballs were not edible, wonder whether there was any meat in it, tasted dense like paper pulp. Go... More

Not sure what would set this place apart from any other brew joint - like so many other places, the beer, wine and whisky list is endless - but these mega-choices are meaningless when the descriptions really don;t fit the taste - I tried two different beers and each one did not really come close to how they were described...a... Situated in the gentrified Elmwood area, this is a great choice if you're looking for a great range of brews and eats coupled with a low-key hipster vibe- a little pricey, but good!

This restaurant has the best Poutine! It is absolutely delicious! It is served in a cast iron skillet that keeps it warm! We shared this amongst four people and could barely eat it all!! The outdoor seating was very nice as well!!

32 beers on tap plus an extensive bottle list. Can get really crowded and loud inside, even upstairs, as it is mostly a bar-type place. But we were able to get a table in the outside side alley and then really enjoyed our evening. Did I mention the beer? You can get beer by the glass or in five ounce... More

I'm fated never to eat at Suzy Q's in Buffalo. Twice now it was closed the day I went to Buffalo. Once they'd run out of food. The best ribs in Buffalo continue to elude me. Blue Monk caught my eye because of its Belgian connection. I spent four days there last fall and mussels, frites and Belgian beer sitting... More

Wife and I have been here several times and have been happy each time...awesome beer selection, great food/appetizers, and atmosphere (but remember it can get loud and has a bar atmosphere)...the wife and I go when we are looking for a bar atmosphere. Some of the Elmwood bars can be mainly college age but Blue Monk is a mixture...closer to... More
