Business turned pleasure trip

The room we were in was rather noisy because of a large party next to us. The beer was cold and it was great to experience the original Buffalo wild wings. They were by far better than the chain restaurants I have eaten at.

This was a first time visit with the anticipation of experiencing something special. Anchor Bar did not disappoint. We were headed for the Falls and decided we had to check this iconic place out. That was a great choice. We really enjoyed the décor, the food and the service. Oh, the wings were excellent too!

Even though history states that wings were invented here (and that's why you HAVE to check it out if you're visiting Buffalo), they are by far not the best wings in the area. This is where it all started so I have to go for that reason, other menu items are pretty good, their fingers or "chicken lips" meal is... More

I've been here many times on my visits to Buffalo, and it is worth a visit if you've never been. You may find that you prefer another restaurant, or more variety of sauce, etc. However, this place INVENTED the dish, so I'm always glad to have a chance to get back to the original. The sides are generous, the service... More

.. visiting historical landmarks is a must when visiting a city for the first time and that includes Anchor Bar on Main Street! It gets a 10 on atmosphere from the moment you step inside. Adult son gives it an 8.5 on the wings and on his Top 3 list ... so that says a lot, pass another napkin please!... More

We were vacationing in Niagara Falls and since we were so close to Buffalo, my wife wanted to try the birthplace of the buffalo wing. So one night (I think it was May 20, 2015) we headed to the Anchor Bar. I honestly don't know if the Anchor Bar is the true origin of the buffalo wing but that tends... More

What is there to say, friendly service, great wings, and a classic place. It may not seem like a lot to look at when you first walk in, but the food will be good (we've had the salads as well as the traditional wings). We've had consistent great experiences over the years, and if we can't stop in for a... More

I went with colleagues while on a business trip. The place has history, both from being the origin of Buffalo Chicken Wings and also the bikes hanging all the way around the restaurant. The wings tasted good but, I thought,no better than anyone else's. The place was heaving so we were rushed to a table, fed, watered and rushed out... More

Very busy, full of tourists like me. The service was fast and the food was ok. I like a lot more variety of flavors than the same thing I've been eating since I was a kid. I can always say I've been there.

Born and raised in buffalo and I honestly don't understand the big deal about this place. The food is okay and so are the chicken wings. For being the birthplace of them I've had better in a bar. While I don't find it a place to go, I say give it a try and decide for yourself.
