We went hear while on a trip to upstate New York. As the home of the original buffalo wing, I had to go. The atmosphere is outstanding and I think this was the only place that showed any life in Buffalo, busy on a weekday afternoon. That being said, the wings were barely sauced at all and not very flavorful.... More

The wings, small, dried out and the sauce was not very good. Hamburger, ordered medium rare, received very well done. Pizza rolls, dry, small and most likely frozen. The celery and blue cheese dressing, not bad. The best hot sauce is made with butter, not margarine. Burger and fries, 6 pizza rolls, 10 wings, side of French fries and 4... More

Landmark place that is way past resting on its laurels but the wings are fine and the service is friendly. Not the classiest place in town but does the trick if you're in the mood for a pig out.

As others have said, wings are good but so are many across the world now. For heritage, it's fun to be at the start of it all. Size and quality of the wings themselves are the highlight to me. Sauces are a good variety and even their hottest isn't just flames, it's actually a really great complex flavor. I'd go... More

We had fun going to Anchor Bar! According to our Buffalo relatives, there are better places to get wings, but we were excited to give this place a try, due to its notoriety. The verdict: the wings were very good!! We went about 4:00pm on a Sunday and waited about 15-20 minutes. No trouble finding parking in the rear of... More

A must visit place of course. I actually never knew this is why they were called Buffalo Wings. Sad, but true. Not the best tasting because of years of improvements on the original recipe. Still worth the drive.

You can't go to Buffalo without going to the Anchor Bar for wings. They were very good... I've had better, but that's probably just personal taste. We were seated promptly even without reservations. Food was served promptly, also.

We stopped here as part of our family road trip. I am not a big wings fan but my husband is. We both agreed these were by far the best wings we've ever had. That being said the restaurant itself seemed run down and dirty. But it's been a couple weeks and we are still talking about how delicious their... More

I am not a wing purist exactly - I like to try out all the weird, exotic flavours. But I was curious to try the home of the Buffalo wing. I came away pretty underwhelmed. I guess after all those weird flavours this tasted too plain for me.I also had a beef on weck and was also disappointed. I wouldn't... More

I have been here all 3 times I have visited Buffalo in the past 3 years. I am a wing lover and had to try the home of the "original" wings. They do not disappoint. These are the old school original buffalo style wings. This is not your local wine and cheese bar trying to serve wings. Let them stick... More
