Excellent sushi!!

This a a great little restaurant. There is probably seating for about 25 people, so space is limited. We read a lot of other reviews and arrived shortly after 5 pm and were lucky enough to be seated at a table. The wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the items on the menu. The sushi... read more

Ok, I realize the seating is limited and a party of 6 on a Friday night is a challenge. So, when they told us it would be about an hour I asked if that was realistic. I was assured an hour would be plenty of time ... So, we ventured next door for some cocktails. That was actually delightful ..... More

Came early evening. Given misleading wait times by hostess (40 mins turned into almost 2 hrs..in the meantime we watched staff attempt to seat their friends who walked in, in front of many others who had been waiting for a very long time) when we were finally seated the food and subsequent service was mediocre. Will not hurry back here.

I've been to Nobu in NYC & Kuni's sushi is ALL THAT! Great atmosphere & excellent sake. knowledgeable staff. Our unusual FAV's shrimp shumai, mackerel & ginger roll, jellyfish salad, grilled baby octopus. Love to sit at sushi bar. Great date night.

Kuni's is a popular place. Unfortunately it is small. However service was excellent. We ordered about 6 different things each was better than the last. The prices were reasonable.

Nice small place that came as a surprise. The place was recommended by a friend and we took the opportunity to visit on Thanksgiving Saturday. We (a party of 3) sat at the sushi bar (only place available right away) and had some chats with the crew as they prepared sushi led by Kuni himself. More then 3, I would... More

I really enjoyed fresh sushi, sashimi, and a bowl of hot udon with my friend. In Buffalo, I personally think Kuni's is one of the best restaurant you can enjoy Japanese with your friends or girl friend in a cozy and bright atmosphere. But you would rather find other Japanese restaurants if you want to enjoy Japanese food with your... More

Reasonably-priced, excellent quality, compares very well with much more expensive sushi places in larger American cities. Even better is the relative quiet setting, where a person or group can eat without entertainment beyond watching Kuni and his assistant make meals. Highly recommended both for cost, quality, and service.

I am a bit picky when it comes to sushi. This was a very good experience! I will definitely come back! Best sushi place I've found so far in buffalo.

I recently moved back to Buffalo from 35 years in California. I asked friends what the best sushi bar in Buffalo was and they all said Kuni's. I have eaten sushi since 1982 in at least 100 places, mostly in LA and Kuni's is as good as any of them. The negative reviews here are ridiculous. Portions are small, duh,... More
