Fun Lunch

Traveling through Buffalo, stopped at Amy's for lunch. A small cafe, reminded us of college days long past. I had the vegan Reuben with a side of Tabbouleh, my husband had Cait's Plate, a mix of lentils, onions, and mushrooms on flatbread, topped with steamed spinach. It was all quite good, service... read more

We visited here as a target of opportunity. The simple cheese omelette was fine and the home fries also fine. The coffee was dull, and the toasted english muffin was "buttered" with something other than butter. We had to ask for jam/marmalade. The restaurant itself is kind of grimy and I think that is the vibe it's going for, which... More

Traveling with children can be challenging no matter their age. So finding options for my two young adult vegans takes advanced research and planning. I actually found Amy's Place on TripAdvisor as an option for a recent Buffalo trip. The overall experience was wonderful. Service was great, place is laid back and casual cool. We started with Vegan Mac a... More

This place is a hippie dive, hole in the wall with amazing food. We had vegan entrees: Veggie stuffed pita salad and lentil and wheatberry sandwich. Healthy and delicious. It was full of hip, trendy students and a few older couples like ourselves (professors). There was a sign on the wall that said "Be Nice or Go Home." That was... More

Sometimes Amy's has a line out the door and it's worth the wait if you like good food and a great experience. Serving sizes for breakfast and lunch are hearty. Everything is delicious and above average and it's just a great place to hang out on Main. I have been relegated to the land of the sad and lonely decaf... More

Used to eat here nearly every weekend because the food is so good & it's a good price for college students. My experience with the service has been mixed. Loved having Kim as a server & there's a few other waitresses who are super nice. There's on though that's terrible. The only time she spoke to us was when she... More

Tried Amy's Place during recent trip to Buffalo because some of our group is vegetarian and they have great veg. choices along with the rest of the menu. It was breakfast time on a Saturday and the place was packed, but the staff was very accommodating and cleared a table for us quickly. And the food is delicious, too.

What an icon Amy's Place has been in the University District. Twenty plus years and they have the tables chairs and perhaps some of the dirt from the first year. The line was almost out the door of the small entrance throughout our visit. The hostess/waitress could not have been nicer. Very sweet and genuinely cared about her customers. As... More

Have always loved this place. The funky crowd, decor and colorful staff are interesting. The food has changed and is not as good as I remember it from a couple of years ago. Server was fairly pleasant but kind of standoffish and unavailable. It was a little bit busy on that winter afternoon so that might be the reason. However,... More

Such a gem in Buffalo's University Heights district. Everything is so good, but I highly recommend the lentilberry wrap. It's ridiculously huge and delicious. Plan on bringing some home! And our server Kim was wonderful!
