My husband didn't want to go, having been disappointed with this restaurant previously. I had never been, so I insisted. He was right... I had a poached lobster dish and learned that lobster is grilled for a reason, it's best that way. The dish was extremely bland, almost tasteless. My husband and son were underwhelmed with their entrees. On a... More

We have not been back to the Rue in many years and we really had no reason except that there are just so many other great restaurants in Buffalo. So for our anniversary a few weeks ago, and our favorite anniversary dinner place Daniel's Restaurant having closed, we decided to go back to Rue Franklin. We arrived on a rainy... More

Wow. Great meal here in Buffalo, NY. The kitchen is putting out some very nice food. Creative. The menu changes with the seasons, which is nice. Come here for a nice meal, comb your hair and put on a jacket. Order nice wine. Relax. Stay a while. Have fun.

Cory (owner) coordinated a surprise b'day party for the Mrs and he and his wait staff did an great job. This was the 1st time in 5 yrs we had been to the Rue and with the new ownership, the quality remains! Cory accommodated the party of 13 with the request of multiple checks, hors d'oeuvres of his choosing, and... More

Went for a pre arranged birthday party of 13. Service was terrible. Ordered filet mignon, $32, overcooked, no flavor, and potatoes cold. My husband ordered sole, it was cold. It took 2.5 hours to serve us dinner. The dessert, gluten free strawberry birthday cake was the best part of the meal.

On this occasion we were a group of nine with a 7:00 PM reservation. We have previously enjoyed dinner on the patio, which is like a little garden, but with rain forecast later the patio was unavailable for dinner. That however didn't prevent members of our party from migrating out there to enjoy cocktails and conversation on a balmy September... More

We had not had a good meal in days coming down from the "wilderness" in Canada and being on the road during the normal dinner hour, so we were eager to eat with real utensils and china and as luck would have it, Rue Franklin provided all of this and more. I recalled the name of the restaurant from an... More

Last night's meal was simply superb. I have no idea where the complaints from other reviewers regarding the service are coming from. The staff was attentive without being intrusive and couldn't be friendlier. My only regret was that the weather discouraged us from sitting on the patio which on a nice day looks like a great place to eat. The... More

This used to be one of our favorite restaurants in Buffalo. This food is still wonderful (exceptional really) but the service was stiff and uncomfortable. The hostess couldn't be bothered to greet us and take our coats as she fidgeted with her keys and phone. The waiter was put off and condescending. The waiter had a thick French accent (possibly...
