I attempted to call for a reservation before an evening performance at the Buffalo Philharmonic which is right across the street from Prospero only to fine that the restaurant has closed...what a shame as we could definitely use a convenient restaurant nearby for Philharmonic attendees when Henry's is all full!

My friends and i have always looked forward to going to Prospero for dinner. We usually make it there at least once during dinners before the theater. Last year I think we went 3 times, So we were really looking forward to this meal. We made reservations since they are always needed on a Wednesday. The bread we were served... More

It is not on a main street with a large choice of places to eat. Prospero's is in a neighborhood of homes with no other restaurants. Most people visit this neighborhood for the beautiful Saarinien designed Kleinhan's Music Hall and the Philharmonic. Please set your GPS and visit on a quiet evening. We went for the Tues/Wed special, an extremely... More

I have been meaning to write this for a while so my memory is a bit foggy on the 'pros' but I definitely remember the 'cons'. Pro: The bartender/host was very personable (some may have found him overbearing); ALL the food was good EXCEPT one item (will get to that under my 'con'); unique, small quaint atmosphere. Con: My side... More

Great food and atmosphere. Recommend reservations as the place is tiny but that's what makes it so awesome!

Dinner at Prospero before going to the Philharmonic-- looked forward to a treat and an easy walk to the concert. However, everything about this place is underwhelming. Interior decoration--slightly tacky. Waiter--slightly off-putting. Does everything have to be a joke or a jibe? Waiter too intrusive. All of the above would have been OK had the food been really good. But... More

Food was OK. Pasta was room temperature, sauces and dishes were somewhat bland and uninspired but certainly edible. My chicken had a rubbery airline taste, but it wasn't the worst thing I've had. Two over-zealous servers were so busy chatting with us and everyone else that they made mistakes on one of the entrees and our drink orders. Time between... More

This restaurant is such a cozy little spot with truly great Italian. It is tucked away next to Kleinhan's off Allen. While it is a great spot before a show, make sure you make a reservation as it is a very small restaurant. My husband and I always start with the hot pepper dish, which is divine, but it is... More

Another place you,d like to love, but can,t. I can walk here from my house....who wouldn,t love a great little quaint place they could stroll to? Food serviceable, but thats it. The server, I believe, was high as a kite and dumped one our dishes on the floor....I might be wrong, but I doubt it. A bit expensive, but I,m... More

We went to Prospero for dinner last night. It is a cozy Italian restaurant near Kleinhans. The staff is extremely friendly as soon as you walk in and they make you feel right at home. There are only about 10 or 12 tables so reservations are recommended. They have a great selection of entrees. I had the lasagna because I... More
