Nice retro diner reminder of the '50's

This is a fun place to go if you want to experience old fashioned diner style meals from the '50s. Lots of old photos from the 50's and 60's on the walls of Hollywood personalities. They have live blue grass style music on Saturday nights that was surprisingly good.

What's not to like? Galaxy is a cool joint to grab breakfast (or any meal) if you're in the Flagstaff area. Better coffee than your average diner, friendly service, great prices (window special was filling and only $3.99!), and a cool 50s interior. Check it out!

Okay perhaps I'm becoming jaded; Route 66 diners are starting to affect me the way castles in Europe did the first time I went there. The first castle (and Route 66 Diner) I saw caused me to think "oh my gosh how cool", After a while though my reaction to castles (and Route 66 Diners) has become "yawn just another... More

Husband and I went for an early dinner. His turkey was very dry and tasteless, My wicked chicken was served on very overcooked and old tasting penne and the hot sauce was certainly hot, but no other flavour could be tasted. What a disappointing dinner--will not return.

That about sums it up. Service was good enough. Food was your run of the mill diner food. Not terrible. Nothing special. Apparently it's an iconic stop on Route 66. It's a good stop if you're travelling through and don't want fast food or a big box restaurant.

We arrived into Flagstaff late after flying into Vegas and driving out. Both of us were deeply exhausted so we were struggling to make decisions when all of a sudden we saw a Diner packed full of people - our decision was made. The diner is conveniently located right along the highway so it's easy to stop in. The place... More

We have been eating at the Galaxy for more than 10 years. it was out go to place when friends were in town. They had great food, wonderful servers and were clean and well-kept. The sandwiches were all delicious, the salads were fresh and they had the best pot roast dinner I have ever had. The last few times, the... More

We ate here for dinner because we wanted to show the kids Route 66 and eat in an old-time diner. The food is just ok, typical of a diner of that time. Fried food. I ordered a salad and it was white iceberg lettuce…..again, from the 50's. It would nice nice if they would change over to romaine. I promise... More

We stayed at one of the hotels nearby and walked here for breakfast. Their coffee was very weakly brewed but they did serve it with real half & half at least. The staff was fairly attentive but not pesky. My dad and I each had an omelette that was tasty. Prices might have been cheaper elsewhere but the value was... More

50’s diner on Route 66 – lots of photos of personalities, fantastic old juke box and authentic diner stools at the counter. Food was pretty reasonable, normal diner level and my wife had a huge pecan-maple milk shake – the day’s special. Prices are low.
