My girlfriend and I took another couple for dinner there on Sunday evening expecting the same wonderful experience we had a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, we had a young blond waitress that had a personality and service skills more like what one would expect from a nearby Denny's. She was in a hurry to get our order and it went... More

The decor is lovely and homey, the food very good, and the wait staff are truly exceptional. This restaurant probably has the best food in Flagstaff, and though a bit pricey, is definitely not "overpriced." This is the place to dine to celebrate your special occasions. I do recommend reviewing the menu before making reservations, because the somewhat limited menu... More

The Cottage Place is the only real "fine dining" in Flagstaff. The service is fantastic. They have an excellent wine list and the food is always delicious. It is located in a charming old house south of the tracks near NAU.

We have eaten at Cottage Place many times and even attended their cooking classes and were super impressed with the food. I was glad they had written a cookbook especially since it made Christmas shopping for my husband a lot easier. Everything we've made has been amazing. The instructions are clear, the ingredients readily available and the recipes inventive and... More

We were in Flagstaff waiting for an Amtrak train that was late (what else is new?) and decided to make the best of it with a nice dinner. The Cottage Place was a short walk from the station and got good ratings. We walked in and we were seated shortly after but not before Chef Frank Branham wandered out into... More

We saved Cottage Place for our last night in Flagstaff, "the best for last", but were very disappointed. It was not so much the food, as the tightness of the tables and the slow service. The arrive appetizer was delicious. I had grilled shrimp and beef tenderloin, and they were both cooked excellently. My wife had shrimp, but did not... More

Duck is my favorite, but it is so easy to mess up. This place made a braised duck that was stupid good! I didn't want to finish it because if I finished it then that meant I couldn't have any more! The chef made numerous appearances in the dining room to talk to the guests. We bought his cookbook and... More

The host was kind enough to move us to a private table in the enclosed front porch area when we couldn't hear over a party that was just really having a good time. This is the best table in the house. Everything on the menu sounded great and decided on the Chateaubriand for two. It included soup AND salad and... More

What a wonderful find this place is! South of the railroad tracks and away from the normal tourist haunts, you don’t just ‘happen by’ this place. Someone tells you about it (just like I am!) We first ate here a year or so ago and thoroughly enjoyed the quaint atmosphere (this place used to be someone’s home and the owners... More
