A funky little joint, that cooks with love. Ribs, Beef Brisket, Pulled Pork, Jambalaya, Gumbo, Poboys and Veggie options just to name a few! A killer selection of local and regional craft brews. We understand it may not taste just like your Grandma's Gumbo or just like Pop's BBQ. But what we do understand is cook'n with love, just like Grandma and Pop's did. Good for your soul food!

A great place to eat

We stopped here after driving up from Sedona on a day trip. It's a nice place ran by very nice people - very friendly! The only thing I didn't like was having to read the menu and then go order - it just felt 'off' - but past that - wow! The food was very well cooked, seasoned and tasted... read more

Satchmo's is a combination of Southern BBQ and Cajun. The menus short on both options. You order at the counter and then the service will find you at your seat. Paper used as table clothes. Smaller tables are crowded with napkin holder and sauces. The pulled pork was A plus, while my wife's chicken was dry and unimaginative. Parking in... More

Adequate parking. A little larger than I expected. Not an extensive menue but the food was good. Well worth a visit.

My wife was out of town so I had to eat. Haven't been here in a few years and I'm glad I went! Staff was friendly and the place was small but nice. Ordered the catfish Po boy, tater tots and red beans and rice. The food was very good, I especially enjoyed the Po boy. My only complaint is... More

My husband and I got the jambalaya, gumbo, and catfish bites. The catfish was great but the other two alone was missing something until we mixed the gumbo and jambalaya together and then it was awesome. Very cramped but very affordable. Overall good experience

From the first greeting to the goodbyes you are made to feel welcomed and happy to be eating in this small but mighty restaurant! Cajun food is one of my favorites and so to find this little gem off the beaten path was a treat! I ordered the grilled shrimp po boy. (Only slightly spicy shrimp with a sweet and... More

Came in to Satchmo's on a Sunday night 5 minutes before closing time. We couldn't sit down, but they were happy to give us some takeaway. The place is small, but has character. Louis Armstrong on the walls and whatnot. They had some funny t-shirts for sale. The staff was all friendly despite us coming in 5 minutes before closing.... More

Love love the jambalaya. My 5 year old can't really take spicy food but he was fine with the jambalaya. The blacken fish is awesome, but I guess it will be good to those who loves heat, cause it is REALLY spicy. All In all, we love this place and will stop by again when we are in town.

One of the top 2 pulled pork BBQ sandwiches outside of the south that I have eaten. The dirty rice was very good and had a nice spicy kick. And the bread pudding also very good. My wife had a killer catfish Po' Boy that she raved over. I would definitely eat there again. Oh and they have the second... More

We ordered, on two different occasions, (two large trays) pulled pork and brisket, and it was excellent. Have eaten there several times and enjoyed everything and the staff was friendly.
