Fellow Tripadvisor reviewers, you did not steer us wrong. On a planned trip from Phoenix to the Utah border, we wanted to stop somewhere about halfway for dinner enroute. Flagstaff seemed to offer a lot of good choices; researching Tripadvisor according to our tastes, we agreed that Criollo sounded like it would satisfy us just fine. It did! Criollo is... More

This restaurant was recommended by a young woman in a shop down the street, and we were very glad we took her advice. Small, simply decorated, they offer an interesting menu. We had vegetarian rellenos and vegetarian tamales, both of which were imaginative and delicious. The tortilla soup was the best I've had. The waiter was knowledgeable and professional. I... More

We were greeted by a guy who kept us waiting (2:30 pm). We joked with him about coming from a different time zone. Happy hour was at 3 pm. He told us no and was rude to us. At 3, he never offered to get us a drink. Even though the waitress and food was great, he set a negative... More

Considering the relatively small size of the town, Flagstaff has a surprising number of restaurants with very solid food and service that are outside the "cookie cutter" approach and Criollo is an excellent example. Having been twice for breakfast I have found the menu to be interesting, just the right amount of Latin influence to provide a "twist" on items... More

We stopped by and liked the gallery- like atmosphere...lots of great paintings on bathe walls, all local artists. We ordered a crane asada and brined chicken leg...amazing. We could not pass up the opportunity to taste the chilli chocolate cake...just wonderful. The service was great and attentive.

Upon recommendation from a Flagstaff resident, we tried Criollo for dinner on a Thursday nite. We were seated promptly and placed our margarita drink orders (the pomegranate margarita was good!). We snacked on chips and salsa while waiting for our meals to arrive. I had the carne asada tacos. The meat was cooked just right. It was served with pinto... More

They rotate their menu frequently (at least once per season), so the menu posted on TripAdvisor isn't always up to date. Check the website. The food is creatively thought out, but the executions of said ideas are not always a great as the concept. Most of the time they pull it off. The Latin concept lets them make everything from... We came here on a recommendation and glad we did. Service was good and friendly. I wanted to eat a salad which unfortunately they did not have on the menu, so I went for the shrimp tacos which were delicious and fresh tasting so I did not miss the salad at all. Followed that with coffee and churos for a... More

My wife and I recently spent a long weekend in Flagstaff and decided to have dinner at Criollo our first night there. The restaurant was busy, but event though we did not have a reservation, we were seated quickly. To start, my wife ordered a glass of red wine and a Caesar salad. I opted for and iced tea and... We occasionally go out to breakfast with two other couples for breakfast. We had plans for a another place but the 45 minute wait was just too much. So we walked around the corner and found Crillo with a few in line waiting for them to open. We hopped in line on the recommendation of those waiting for the 9AM... More
