Cafe in restored hotel

Had the best fish tacos ever! Crispy with two choices of spicy sauce, black beans and rice. Lots of effort and money went in to restoring this hotel , pub and cafe that takes you back in time. Friendly but not fast service!

Wow, the Gopher Hole (the basement bar) has TERRIBLE service. Do NOT waste your time here- there is a reason that it has a low rating on Yelp. I wish that I could have given it zero stars. The people who tend the bar are a bunch of entitled, uneducated, ridiculous kids. However, in good faith, I will say that... More

Charly's has excellent food, access to two very cool bars in the Hotel Weatherford. Furthermore,Charly, himself who the bar was named after, is still knocking around Flagstaff playing the piano with small ensembles. The larger experience at Charly's is to see all of the Hotel that houses it. The upstairs Zane Grey Bar has a back-bar that was moved from... More

Legend has it Western writer Zane Grey penned 'Call of the Canyon' in this very building. With this information and a recommendation from the nice people at the tourist info we headed straight to the classic Weatherford Hotel. Charly's Pub famous Navajo Taco was a priority and we also needed something comforting & familiar. An above average French Onion soup... More

Our first night in Flagstaff and we were looking forward to a Traditional jam session! My friend even brought her tin whistles 1000+ miles in anticipation! Empty room and no one seemed to know the how or why? So we grabbed a quick meal! Nothing extraordinary. Pub fare! Wish the info was more current! The hotel lobby and room we... More

We stopped here for dinner on Halloween. Nice menu but nothing out of the ordinary. Had burgers and beers and they were good. The best thing was the warm brownie sundae for dessert. The decor is old cream city brick and cool. It is located in a busy part of a nice downtown.

I was sorry to read so many poor reviews of this restaurant. I guess places are "hit or miss" sometimes. Our experience was quite good. We came here for dinner based on the recommendation of a local friend. Located in the Weatherford Hotel, the place is steeped in history. We were there around 8:30pm and were the only ones in... A nice restaurant with regional touches on the menu (Navajo tacos!) and in the center of historic downtown. A table by the fireplace is always in demand on a snowy or blustery day. I've never had a bad meal here, and I've been eating here for a lotta years!

Having made reservations in California for their special Saturday night prime rib, we were terribly disappointed. First came my husband's average small salad. I ordered the French onion soup which actually was delicious but arrived cold. The rolls had been microwaved so they arrived spongy. Then in the middle of our soup and salads the main course arrived. So DISAPPOINTING!!... More

Dinner here was a more than pleasant surprise. The food was excellent -- the evening's special homemade mushroom soup was mouth watering -- and each dish seemed to be crafted just so to be quite special. Oh, the mac and cheese, which comes with a delicious salad, is totally a comfort food dish.
