Great falafel

this was our first time at City Cafe, we ordered their sampler and a cup of lentil soup. The Falafel and soup was excellent, I personally did not care for the baba-ganoosh the humus was decent, the tabouli very good as were the grape leaves. I saw other peoples meals and they were very generous... read more

We loved the grilled chicken shish kabob and hummus. Dominic was wonderful, helpful and very hospitable. We can't wait to return soon!

I love Mediterranean cuisine, but this was average, at best. We ordered the Tabbouleh, which was good, but the Pitas they served with it seemed tough/day-old. The butternut squash soup was delicious, but served lukewarm, so it was hard to enjoy it. I didn't bother sending it back because it was busy and I didn't want to disrupt dinner for... More

Yesterday, we were wearily making our way to Syracuse for a young friend's graduation, when we stopped off in Scranton for a cup of expresso. The first place we found from "Around me" was closed for good, when we called another, it was also gonzo. On the third try, we found City Cafe. What we did not realize before we... More

There is no restaurant, Lebanese or otherwise with better prepared food or a more genial host. A modest but comfortable atmosphere, BYOB, an excellent selection of traditional dishes and desserts. I make this a regular stop when I am anywhere near Scranton!

Arriving in Scranton for a family event, we were driving around downtown looking for a place to eat, when my wife spotted City Cafe. As we enjoy Middle Eastern food, and having seen nothing else interesting, we stopped in. We were warmly welcomed and the proprietor arranged two tables so we could sit together, not having to use the high... More

My wife and I usually stop here for lunch whenever we are in Downtown Scranton. Also stopped a few times with coworkers. Never had any food that I didn't like! The menu is great and has a nice variety of different Mediterranean dishes to choose from. The meat pies are one of my favorites! The hummus, wraps, sandwiches, soups... Everything... More

Visited for lunch over Columbus Day weekend. Service was prompt and courteous. Kafta kabob was perfectly spiced. Owner came by for a chat. All in all an excellent stop on the long trip home. With easy on and off from I-81 via Scranton Expressway, why opt for fast food or a chain? Recommended.

This restaurant was recommended to us. We were looking for a healthy, satisfying meal while staying in Scranton, the Electric City. Small dining area. Everyone seemed to know one another - good sign. There were five of us and we each ordered something different. There was not a bite left on anyone's plate. The food was fresh, tasty, healthy. We... More
