a gem

this place is a real gem - a unique experience and great food - generous portions create a quality meal - always a warm convivial atmosphere. great place to meet with friends. Love that they are BYOB - strangers will engage in conversations about whatever! Just wish they didn't shut so early.

I have been to Chef Waynes many a times over the years. Always my taste buds have danced, and I have been transported to a place of perfect happiness. The thing I look forward to most is the pecan pie at the end. I love this pie, not to sweet, and loaded with pecans, encrusted in bourbon perfection. Needless to... More

You can't go wrong if you're cravin' Cajun. We've been here for lunch, dinner and brunch. The new brunch option is well worth a Sunday morning visit when Chef Wayne is doing it. It's not a year round thing but worth it when it's available.

Had a wonderful dinner with friends at Big Mamou's. Very simple place in a storefront in a not great part of town. But trust me, the food makes you forget all of that. From the moment you approach Big Mamou, the wonderful smells pull you in. We had to wait for a table but we were warmly greeted. Service was... More

The food was absolutely amazing! Truly a great find. You won't be disappointed if you are looking for an authentic Cajun meal. Felt like I was back in New Orleans.

I revisited Chef Wayne's after over 10yrs with my lovely wife (her first time) during Restaurant Week in Springfield. I'm pleased to report that the food is even more delicious! My wife loves the Calamari and the Cajun Pasta...and the New Orleans Bread Pudding is amazing! A MUST when in Springfield, a hidden gem!

If you have a craving for authentic Cajun food, or would like to try it, this is the place to go. Nothing fancy, hole in the wall place, with great service and food. We tried the Calamari and it was some of the best I have had. You can beat the Jambalaya.

The Cajon preparations were excellent. The crawdad salad was outstanding. The p-lace is small so there may be lines at lunch but it is worth the wait.

I was looking for a "new" restaurant to try and read the reviews about Chef Wayne's. All I can say is WOW! The food was really good. We got there and there was a line outside the door waiting for them to open. When they opened at 5:00 we all poured in and at 5:04 all the tables were filled.... More
