We have been many times over the 19+ years they've been there. We bring our own beer/wine, many times wait in line for food, always worth wait. When you eat here you need to be patient as usually all tables are full, 2 waitresses and they get to you as soon as they can. Appetizers are fantastic, spinach and chicken... More

The waitress didn't even look at us when we went in on 10/30. She had her back to us and said 'take out or eat in? You can only do take out' as she sipped on her red wine at 820pm. Take out food was average. Will never go back.

I was a little apprehensive of this place when my colleague took me here; however, I was proven wrong with the first bite. I am from the south, and was not expecting great cajun in New England. The gumbo was as good as mine, and the homemade hot sauce was so flavorful. Even better, I felt like family by the... More

My first visit to Chef Wayne's Big Mamou was 15 years ago. Until tonight I'd not been back for 11 years. It is still outstanding. I started with an appetizer of fried calamari. Very good. Main course was the fried eggplant Po Boy. It was stuffed with cheese, grilled peppers and their sauce. The bread was fresh. An outstanding sandwich!... More

As many reviewers have noted, Big Mamou isn't located in the nicest area but this certainly shouldn't prevent you from giving this place a try. My girlfriend and I stopped in for lunch and were amazed by how flavorful each dish was. They have many different combinations of jumbalaya and different meats, each with a unique, spicy sauce that lights... More

Went there for lunch during the week. Fairly crowded but found a table within minutes. Waitress was helpful and friendly. Food was yummy and plentiful.

Outstanding food in a cozy setting. All of the dishes are outstanding but the signature crawfish jumbalaya is to die for!

Great food in a small restaurant where everyone is treated like a regular. Don't expect the ritz, just expect Delicious New Orleans Cajun food in a restaurant that is nondescript on the outside but is French Quarter on the inside. There may be a wait for dinner but great thing is its BYOB so you can enjoy the wait and... More

This little place packs a BIG punch of flavor.... We were so glad we got to stop in again for the best rice and beans on the planet. The cornbread is divine. We finally got to try those thunder thighs and they were fantastic . Every time we come to Springfield we just have to stop here. This time we... More
