Great place to enjoy an evening out.

I love this place. American food with a few surprises. Comfortable environment, not too casual, but not upscale either. Love their salads and meat dishes.

Loved the atmosphere on the patio and very close to my hotel. connected to the Basketball hall of fame. The chicken looked great, I got the scallops but was envious of my colleagues meal. Caprese salad was so-so. good service.

Ordered pan seared salmon for lunch. It came with a vegetable medley/hash with melon and a wonderful sauce drizzle of gastric that was so harmonious with the other ingredients. I am a low level foodie and love to cook. This dish blew my mind with its complexity and execution. I love this place and have been here many times. Their... More

I enjoyed dinner here with a friend while we were visiting from out of town. It wasn't too crowded for a Saturday night and we were able to enjoy a nice private conversation over some wonderful food and well-made, if a bit strong, cocktails. We shared the artichoke dip and flatbread for an appetizer. Both were really good. Our entrees... More

My wife and I stopped into Maxes Tavern over the weekend. The food was ok but wow we were shocked when we got the bill. My Sam Adams beers were $10 EACH after a modest tip. My wife's Martinis were $15 EACH after a modest tip for an absolute tiny pour. The food was priced the same way. I don't... More

Delicious food with nice wait staff and interesting menu. Menu was diverse and interesting. Drinks were good too! We tried a chicken with apricot sauce that was worth going back to have again!!

I visited with two small kids on a quiet midweek afternoon. The waiters were quiet slow, to get the orders and the food came quite slow too. It seemed from the few other guests we were not the only ones noticing. The food is excellent, tasty and generous portions. I loved the salad. The setting is nice, and its right... More

Went to Max's without having read any reviews due to the lack of options in Springfield. Had no idea from the outside that it would be such a great steakhouse! It's a definite visit every time I am in town for work. The Tuna Tacos are a great starter, especially being $2 during happy hour. Wish there were more like... More
