I've been to Max's dozens of times since it opened, about once a month for lunch, and probably a half dozen times for dinner. It has been usually very good. I've sampled much of the menu, and my dinner favorites are Filet Oscar, a popular special, and the Salmon. My lunch favorites are the Hollywood Cobb Salad and the Max... More

We went for lunch and we were happy we did. We both enjoyed our meals. We had a booth inside since it looked like rain and the atmosphere was warm. The service was great too.

I've been here once and I found this place too pricey for the food we had, not bad, but too expensive. The service was great. but I don't think I'll go back there so easily.

Enjoyed a fantastic dinner outside on the patio on a Friday evening. Perfectly cooked and seasoned NY Strip with grilled asparagus. Perfect combination. Waitress was professional, friendly and attentive. I have never been disappointed at a "Max" restaurant. If you like craft beers you must try Max's brew "Brewtus Mazimus". It is made by Thomas Hooker brewery just for the... More

Simply put, I loved my Cobb salad. Might have been the best one I ever had. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town for lunch.

After lunch at a chain restaurant stumbled upon Max's (didn't find it mentioned in any hotel literature). Had a great meal, local produce and chicken, great service and nice entertainment on the patio. Nice end to the day, if I'm ever in Springfield I will visit again!

Had lunch here on 4th of July and it was so delicious, we stopped again on our way back to airport. Extensive menu, great service. Burrata with peaches outstanding. Good burgers. Easy on and off of 91, next to basketball Hall of Fame. Worth a detour.

i went to Max's tonight and have had many great lunches there. I ordered salmon, well cooked. Well it was burned on the outside and raw in the inside, absolutely tasteless. When i showed the waitress it was raw in the middle, they probably microwaved it. It was that delicious, not! It tasted like nothing. The waitress was very apologetic,... More

I have been to several Max restaurants and i am generally a fan however The Tavern is not good. I have been to the Tavern several times and have never been impressed. Tonite was my last straw I will NOT be back. We sat on the patio and were greeted and served in a reasonable time however our server seemed... More
