We attended a lunch banquet at Salvatore's while visiting Springfield, MA (sadly for a funeral). Staff was very pleasant, food was OK but given that it was a "banquet menu" as it was after a funeral, the set up was a bit awkward for people to manouver around the room and buffet table. Also, there were a few items missing... More

After reading some of the other reviews we almost did not keep our reservation at Salvatore's. We were definintely glad that we did. We went for my husband's birthday. We informed the waitress (Karen) that we wanted to have a leisurely, romantic evening. She was happy to accomodate us. We first enjoyed a cocktail, then ordered the appetizer special. It... More

We were desperately trying to find a place off the highway that wasn't a chain fast food place. Came across Salvatore's and weren't sure what to expect from the outside. It is Really dated looking, with the ancient peeling sign and 70's/ 80's look to the place. Same look inside - you know the look: dark lounge-ey look to the... More

We were a bit lost in Springfield and hungry. We were searching for a diner, but this old-fashioned, 70s style red-sauce Italian place full of twangy short New England accents. The chowder of the day was good and the cold cut sandwich very acceptable. Not expensive for lunch. Decor a bit on the heavy side, but the service was very... More

The chicken marsala was worst I ever had. Tasteless, soggy piece of white mass. The zita would have tasted better if the put Ragu on it. The sausage salvatore had no flavor. I was afraid to try the meatballs, they looked frozen. So disappointed in how restaurants peddle such garbage and label it Italian food.

This restaurant used to be a go-to place back in the day, but is a bit uneven now. The food is always good, but sometimes it shines more than others.

On Mon May 21st 3:10pm My husband and stopped in for and early dinner, we were met by Diane who sat us by the bathroom although all other tables where empty (we where the only ones there). She said she'd be right back and 15mins later she was still missing in action... We decided to go look for her and... More

I never get on the web to write bad about an eatery. Even places that I considered slightly less than adequate have escaped my literary wrath. However, tonights experience at Salvatore's Italian Style restaurant, was horrendous to say the least. The visit started out well enough, we were greeted and seated in a timely manner. But that is where the... More

Great family restaurant. The food was really good. The pizza was amazing. Will visit again soon. Friendly fast but excellent.

Salvatore's has a large bar, which is perfect for stopping in to get a few drinks. The food is average, but could be worse. Seems to attract an older crowd, so when I go I always sit at the bar. Because the bar area is so large, it is perfect to mingle, or to go and have a private conversation.
