If you're expecting a really cool place with candlelight and a secret password to get in.... you're barking up the wrong 'tree'. This is an 'eh' restaurant in the basement of a rather pretty hotel. I've been to other speakeasys, this was a disappointment. Drink menu was very limited and did not contain any of the common "1920's" drinks on... More

While staying in Luray, the Speak Easy was recommended for a nice elegant dinner and it was wonderful. The food was excellent and the staff was so nice. They even had a small bar that you could order a glass of wine with dinner. We were lucky to go on a night in which they had live music. What a... More

Food and wine were OK but the place is lacking in personality. Portraits of Al Capone and Hollywood personalities adorn the walls. The night we were there, they had live music which was not very good because of the lack of connection they had with the crowd.

I do not drink much so I had no idea what to order, the bartender David, made a drink for me called the apple pie. It was delicious. David made a seven on seven for my friend, and was very personable during our stay. We sipped our drinks and chatted with the bartenders. I had wanted a local cider and... More

We went down on a Monday night and they had a small jazz band playing! It was great to hear local talent. The food was awesome and the drinks were unique!

The wait staff was very friendly and the food was tasty....but the size of the portions....not so much...the chicken wings were smaller than my house key! I've never seen a chicken wing so tiny before in my life! The portion size was smaller then I would have expected for the price. The waiter did comment on how pathetic the wings... More

Our Waiter, Justine, was cordial, informative and excellent as well as our food. We dined on the porch of the Mimslyn Inn which was fabulous since the weather was beautiful.

Food was fine, what you would expect. Live jazz was great, though a little loud for the size of the room

The night we had dinner at the speakeasy we decide to eat on the porch. The weather was perfect and eating outdoors was a good idea. The food was perfect. The only issue was flies. They didn't ruin the meal but everyone outside had to deal with the them.
