We ate here because we were staying at the Sequoia Village Inn directly across the street. The location was perfect and could not be beat. We sat outside and had a wonderful view of the river. We were lucky and had good service. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. However, the food just okay at best. I expected to... More

We should have taken the hint from the jerk with the tank top and shorts who tried to tell us that we had no business walking in without reservations, then finding us a table (in a nearly empty place) when we turned to leave. In short, the pasta was overcooked, oversalted, and in the case of the "marinara", just ketchup.... More

This restaurant is right on the river, just outside the park entrance. A beautiful view and great food. Not inexpensive but worth it.

Friendly waiter, quick service but over priced food. Seriously over priced. The food was good but not great. Just too expensive for my wallet.

Went here as there really is a lack of choice around these parts. However the service was excellent and I found the menu to be a good varied choice and reasonable in value. The food was excellent and the portions more than adequate, in fact we could not eat it all due to the size of portion. The setting is... More

Exhausted after a long day in the park, we found ourselves in The Gateway. Initial reaction as we were lead to the outside area was it was old and had a rather fusty smell. Sat down by the river, our hopes/mood improved. Seeing the menu and how expensive some options were we played it safe by going for a burger... More

We went to this restaurant based on the suggestion of a park ranger. When I read the reviews on Trip Advisor I was not sold. We decided after eating here that we would base our future restaurant decisions soley on Trip Advisor. Two people in our party ordered the special...never thought to ask how much. It was a fatty piece... More

The Gateway wasn't as bad as some of the reviews on Yelp made it seem. While the food was certainly unremarkable and overpriced, the service was fine and the setting was really lovely. Plus, its always open and conveniently located which I can't say for many of the other establishments.

Food very good. We shared an entree for an additional $5 which included 2 huge salads, still more food than we could eat.
