Growing up in the area, our family always stopped at Kowloon's going to and from Boston. (We lived in Kittery, Maine.) My husband and I recently visited, and I was greatly disappointed. It was "old" style Chinese food, which was heavy, greasy and fried. I have switched to Thai food because I feel it's much lighter, but wanted to go... More

I am in town on a business trip and staying in a hotel across the street. I have been craving Chinese for weeks. At first appearance the atmosphere is great. Quiet and relaxing. I ordered a Mai Tai and it tastes like pure sour mix. For dinner I ordered sesame chicken and pork fried rice. How hard can that be... More

The Kowloon is more of a destination than a restaurant. It is many restaurants/bars/venues in one location. There is the standard (original) Chinese restaurant (Tiki Lagoon Room) featuring traditional fare, the Thai Grill which features Thai and Japanese - including Sushi, Luau Room with a Polynesia flair and the Komedy Club which features national headliners. For those who like to... More

We ordered a platter, split it, and still had lots left over. The staff were friendly, attentive, helpful and made our meal even more enjoyable.

This place is a glorified Chinese restaurant... All the food tasted bland with no flavor.. The crab ragoon only had cheese and no crab, presentation of that dish sucks... The Pad Thai had a funky smell to it and the tofu, I assume it was tofu. Tasted horrible so we picked it all off our plate. Again presentation of tired... More

I have lived in the Boston area for 30 years, and my taste for all Asian foods has 'grown up' here. Kowloon's reminds me of every thing bad about a Chinese restaurant in 1982, when I didn't know it was bad: - Tepid tea - Greasy egg rolls - Entrees clearly cooked in vats - if you got a dish... More

I was recently here again with family and friends. I have been to this palace many times over the past 6 years. It is a huge restaurant with a comedy club on the second floor. There is a dinning room for Chinese food and another room for Thai / Japanese food and a bar with tables for whatever. I have... More

We hadn't been here in quite a few years, so decided to go. The atmosphere wasn't too bad, but the food was horrible, not to mention the service. We sat in the lounge area where there was only one waitress for a lounge full of people, so I guess the service can't be totally blamed on her. The food was... More

While slowly crawling out of Boston up to Maine for the Fourth of July weekend, I stopped into this roadside restaurant off Route 1 in Saugus. The exterior trim and interior décor recalled the old Trader Vic's restaurants so popular in the 1970's, sans Polynesian fare. The proprietors seemed to know many of the customers, suggesting that they have a... More

If you are only going to get bombed on candy - like drinks, you have found the right place. The take-out is horrible, this may be because that feel that if you do not dine in then you do not deserve quality. I have eaten here two times the first time I mentioned a shellfish allergy and was given lomein with... More
