Having had an over-the-top, excellent first experience at Mastro's in 2013, I decided to take a group of six here for a 2014 holiday celebration. Reservations at 5:30pm - it was a ten minute wait to be seated... only a single family of four ahead of us - the place was not ready for the night. Not a great start.... More

We enjoy fine dining, but we don't enjoy paying exorbitant prices. I guess it's the Ruth's Chris syndrome, but honestly...the prices just don't make sense. Mastro's in Thousand Oaks is lacking atmosphere, as well, as other reviewers have noted. Service was good but not outstanding. The menu features a list of mostly seafood starters, which is odd for a steak... More

Have been here several times. The service is fair, the food is OK, but not up to the price/ quality one would expect. Very Shy Shy and looks very high end. If the service and food were up to the decor - it would be a great place. If your looking for a high- end all around dinning experience --... More

I've been here a dozen times and will continue to go back for the ambience, service and fantastic quality of their food. People tend to shy away from eating here because they think it will be too pricy but you get a ton of food, the sides and salads are big enough to split between 2 or more people. Most... More

As far as food goes, it was fantastic. The steak was incredible and the sides were wonderful. The lobster mashed potatoes were a little rich, but still had a good taste. The setting, however, was much less desirable. The volume of the restaurant was far too loud. It is fairly difficult to have a normal conversation with others in your... More

I guess I am just saying what so many already said. This place is outstanding for their steak but also the appetizers where perfect. We had a very good business meal and my expectations where high due the cost and the reputation. And I was not disappointing as everything was perfect.

Classy atmosphere, a fun night out in suburbia! There was a really good female duo entertaining in the bar, sound was not obtrusive to diners. Love that this place offers entertainment during the week. Depending on our mood, we, at times, prefer dining in the bar over the more intimate dining room as it has that old world supper club... This rating suffers from my lack of appreciation for all things excessive. There is absolutely nothing wrong with anything at Mastro's. The food is incredible, the service is lacking in nothing. It's just all too much for me. You can't really judge a portion or serving from another restaurant until you've experienced one here. Even splitting a steak isn't enough.... More

each and every time I eat at Mastro's I feel like it is a special occasion (even if it is just a dinner out on a Friday night!). The servers do a great job at making you feel like a king and the food is always wonderful. Get the lobster mac it is worth the price

Mastro's just does things right. The service is top notch and the steaks are wonderful. I have never had to send a steak back for any reason. The pork chops are also great and the last time I was there I had the Australian Waygu tomahawk ribeye, It was one of the best steaks I have ever had. Another reviewer... More
