Consistently good

Food is well done and with a light hand vs the usual heavy sauced glop you usually get at Italian places. Waitress are professional but need to smile a bit more. Bread is a winner. My husband and friends love the minestrone. Scampi and clam dishes are great. Veal Marsala had lemon-not good... read more

We were so sad when the Studio City Vitello's changed hands because it was one of the only traditional Italian restaurants left in the valley. Once we found the Vitello family opened a new Vitello's in Thousand Oaks, we remembered the food we loved. The food is great, portions are large and all at a reasonable price.

The first visit several months ago was not satisfying. We were glad we came back after a recommendation from a friend. I had the classic lasagna which was the best I have had in this area. My wife had the penne arrabbiata which was also very good. The service was also excellent.

My husband and I have been coming here for several years. We travel some distance, and pass other Italian restaurants, to get here. Their sauces, bread and Margherita pizzetti are superb. So wish we live closer.

Do you think you have the right to hold an opinion about what foods look appetizing or not? Or whether you think the food is tasty or not? Well, if you do, don't go to Vitello's, because Mr. Vitello, the younger, thinks he knows best! The subject - pepperoni pizza. Last Friday night. I ordered a pizza with mushrooms, peppers... More

We recently visited Vitello's on a recommendation from a friend, and were completely blown away with the timeless ambiance and amazing food! The service was impeccable and the waitstaff made you feel like "part of the family". I can honestly say I have not had Italian food prepared as good as Vitello's in very long time. We are hooked and... More

The sauce lacks flavor, the pizza is doughy and the pastas are bland. Atmosphere is quaint and the customer service skills are accommodating yet staff could be more energetic. Overall, the reviewer that described this as run of the mill described it perfectly. Reasonably priced, low end wine list, nothing stellar here. I'd return if the pizza hadn't been so... More

We have been coming to this fantastic little gem for a couple of years now, and I figured it was time to give them their well deserved accolades. The food is amazing. If you are looking for real authentic Italian food, then stop looking because we found it here at Vitello's Trattoria. My family and I have had at least... More

The restaurant is small but pleasantly decorated. The menu is quite extensive and the prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, the food is, at best, average. The entrees were not particularly well presented and while not bad, they were rather bland. The service, however, was very attentive and accommodating. Although not a fan of the Olive Garden, I would return there before... More
